New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) presents an evening with Tango Buenos Aires: The Spirit of Argentina. Direct from Buenos Aires, this sensual, soulful performance brings together an expert company of musicians, vocalists and dancers in a passionate celebration of the Argentinian tango and the most prominent figure in its history, French-Argentine singer, songwriter and composer Carlos Gardel.

Parasol Arts will present Piazzolla En Sus Palabras (Piazzolla in His Own Words) written and directed by Parasol Arts Creative Director, Lorita Travaglia. Performances will be at Colorado Ballet's Black Box Theatre located at 1075 Santa Fe Drive, Denver, Colorado 80204.

Russian-born violin virtuoso Philippe Quint - lauded for his "fervidly expressive" playing (San Francisco Chronicle) and "bravura technique" (The Times of London) - will showcase his formidable endurance in performances of Antonio Vivaldi's timeless The Four Seasons and Astor Piazzolla's nuevo tango masterpiece The Four Seasons of Buenos Aires with the Santa Barbara Symphony on March 18 and 19. Conducted by Maestro Nir Kabaretti, and including Haydn's dramatic Symphony No. 101 ("The Clock"), the concerts will take place at 8 pm on Saturday, March 18, and at 3 pm on Sunday, March 19, in Santa Barbara's Granada Theatre. Tickets are now available.

The Josephine S. Leiser Opera Center and Steinway Piano Gallery Miami present the season's third pair of performances in the free concert series, 'SongFest Recital Series.' Chicago Opera Theater (COT) presents "The Invention of Morel," a world premiere of the co-commissioned opera composed by Stewart Copeland, co-founder and drummer of The Police. Based on Argentinian author Adolfo Bioy Casares' 1940 novel "La invencion de Morel," Copeland's new adaptation examines the triumph of time-bending love over convention in a story of adoration and desire. "The Invention of Morel" features London-based actor, director and writer Jonathan Moore as Stage Director/Librettist together with COT's Artistic Director Andreas Mitisek as Conductor. The press performance will be February 18 at 7:30 p.m. Subsequent performances will be February 24 at 7:30 p.m.and February 26 at 3 p.m.

The Princeton Symphony Orchestra (PSO) is preparing to send out invitations for this season's tango-themed gala-Under the Stars in Buenos Aires-featuring the return of violinist Daniel Rowland and his virtuosic performance of music by the tango master Astor Piazzolla with musicians of the PSO.
