Israeli-American cellist Inbal Segev, known for her "warm, pure and beautiful tone" (Strings Magazine), will open The Music of Anna Clyne, a concert marking the first night of Roulette's (509 Atlantic Ave) third annual String Theory Festival. Segev will perform Grammy-nominated composer Anna Clyne's Rest These Hands for solo cello. The concert also includes performances of Clyne's music by The String Orchestra of Brooklyn and Mivos Quartet.
The Houston premier of Sir Arthur Sullivan's The Zoo will highlight the Gilbert & Sullivan Society of Houston's 3rd Annual Gala Concert and Silent Auction. The evening will open with choral selections from Messrs. Gilbert and Sullivan's works, including the entire finales from the operas Iolanthe, Mikado, and The Gondoliers (the Society's summer production). Support the Society while enjoying the best of Gilbert & Sullivan, featuring performance and direction by Alistair Donkin, as well as musical direction by Dr. Brian Runnels, with a special guest appearance by former Society music director Dr. Robert Linder.

Orva Hoskinson, co-founder of San Francisco's Lamplighters Music Theatre, passed away on Thursday, January 26, 2017. He was 92. -Orva co-founded the Lamplighters with Ann Pool Mac Nab in the summer of 1952.
