When the new world tour of Andrew Lloyd Webber's behemoth, 'The Phantom of the Opera,' kicks off in Manila, Philippines this February 20, 2019, the production will transport you back to the original London production (still playing!), which opened at Her Majesty's Theatre on October 9, 1986.

Leonard Bernstein's CANDIDE has had more lives than that proverbial cat--the latest being New York City Opera's new take on it, opening on January 6 for a ten-performance run at Jazz at Lincoln Center's Rose Theatre. It is, once again, helmed by director Hal Prince and choreographer Pat Birch, who were responsible--with librettist Hugh Wheeler and conductor John Mauceri--for the resuscitation and renovation of the once-considered unproducible work, more than 40 years ago.

This January, the legendary Broadway visionary Harold Prince returns to New York City Opera to direct a new production of Leonard Bernstein's Candide. The production, choreographed by Emmy Award-winning and Tony Award-nominated choreographer Patricia Birch, brings together a versatile cast of Broadway veterans and rising opera stars to tell the story of Candide's adventures and tribulations in the "best of all possible worlds."

First up is the RETURN of A SCORE TO SETTLE starring Rita Costanzi. Hilarious and virtuosic, A SCORE TO SETTLE is a unique tour-de-force. World class harpist and actress, Rita Costanzi, tells the riotously entertaining story of her life with the harp through music and witty dialogue. Written by Kico Gonzalez-Risso and directed by Arthur Masella.

The singer, songwriter and recording artist Carolyn Montgomery-Forant continued her recent comeback as performed her critically acclaimed 'Visible Phoenix' at the Laurie Beechman Theater, 407 West 42nd Street, a show which took off in October. The flame-throwing wit's first solo show since returning to the stage in January of last year, 'Visible Phoenix' marches on Fridays, March 13, and April 10. All shows are at 7pm.
