Theater for the New City Hosts 36th Annual Vintage Halloween Costume Ball, 10/31

Nonstop theater, a costume competition and ballroom dancing will bewitch the East Village in Theater for the New City's 36th annual Village Halloween Costume Ball on Wednesday, October 31 at TNC, 155 First Avenue. This unique festival continues as a grand coming-together for everyday New Yorkers and artists alike. A carefree fall tradition, it celebrates the creativity that comes with the season.

Theater For The New City Opens DIGITAL DILEMMAS, 10/4

Theater For The New City, executive director Crystal Field, will present DIGITAL DILEMMAS, a new musical comedy about our obsession with digital devices, October 4 - 21, at the Theater For The New City, 155 First Avenue (at 10th Street). The production features book & lyrics by Tom Attea, music by Arthur Abrams, direction by Mark Marcante, and chorography by Angela Harriell.

Theater for the New City will end its run of 'Stops Along the Road,' a new play written by Walter Corwin and directed by Jonathan Weber on April 11, 2010. This is the first time sets for a play by Walter Corwin will be designed by his son, William, who is a visual artist of emerging prominence. The production attempts to capture the confusion of our contemporary political mindset through direct symbolism and the play's own complex, refractive three-act structure in which each act is a different play-within-a-play.
