Tony nominee Laura Linney and Olympia Dukakis will reprise their TALES OF THE CITY roles for a revival now in development at Netflix.

The sixth edition of Concert For America was held at The Curran in San Francisco on Saturday, June 24. The concert was 'an evening of entertainment with stars of film, television, music, comedy, and Broadway raising funds for five national organizations working to protect civil rights.' Utah Film Center announced today the feature films selected for the 14th annual Damn These Heels Film Festival. Damn These Heels will run July 14 - 16, 2017 at the Rose Wagner Performing Arts Center and is a celebration of independent, documentary, and foreign films from around the world that explore LGBTQ issues, ideas, and art.  Passes and tickets are now on sale on the Utah Film Center's website.

Celebrating its 35th Anniversary, Outfest - the Los Angeles-based nonprofit organization promoting equality by creating, sharing, and protecting LGBT stories on the screen - today announced the complete programming lineup for the 2017 Outfest Los Angeles LGBT Film Festival presented by HBO. The nation's leading LGBT festival will be held July 6-16, 2017.

Laguna Playhouse has announced the sixth and final show in the Laguna Playhouse 2016-2017 season, THE ABSOLUTE BRIGHTNESS OF LEONARD PELKEY, written and performed by James Lecesne with music by Duncan Sheik (Spring Awakening) and directed by Tony Speciale.

The Old Globe today announced its 2017-2018 Season, which will kick off with the world premiere musical Benny & Joon, with book by Kirsten Guenther, music by Nolan Gasser, and lyrics by Mindi Dickstein.

With the help of artists from throughout American Conservatory Theater's (A.C.T.) celebrated 50-year history-as well as current Master of Fine Arts Program (M.F.A.) and Young Conservatory (YC) students-A.C.T. raised over $1.2 million at its 2017 Season Gala, which took place on Thursday, April 27 at A.C.T.'s Strand Theater and Costume Shop Theater. The proceeds from the Gala support A.C.T.'s actor training and arts education programs.

Lance Horne is developing new music based on acclaimed author Neil Gaiman's love poems to his wife, Amanda Palmer, is working on a top-secret project with Scissor Sisters' Jake Shears and continues to work with his 'musical husband,' Alan Cumming. And, if all of that weren't enough, the Emmy-winning composer (ONE LIFE TO LIVE), lyricist and performer has also returned to Joe's Pub for the 2016-2017 season. Having performed at the venue since it first opened its doors in 1998, Horne is currently undertaking a four-part residency of new material---aptly titled NEW WORK, NEW WORK---for which he's been joined by many of his famous friends. Ahead of the residency's penultimate installment, NEW WORK NEW WORK 3, on April 12 at 7pm, we spoke with Horne by phone about his innumerable collaborators, his history with Joe's and the stars he's still working on teaming up with.

The League of Professional Theatre Women, is pleased that three-time Academy Award and three-time Tony Award nominee, Laura Linney sat down with James Naughton to discuss her extensive body of work in theatre, film and TV. Philadelphia Theatre Company will close its season on May 17-June 4 with The Absolute Brightness of Leonard Pelkey, written and performed by James Lecesne, and directed by Tony Speciale with original music by Duncan Sheik (Spring Awakening).  This production replaces the world premiere of American Canvas by Bill Cain, the winner of PTC's Terrence McNally New Play Award.  American Canvasimagines an ambitious portrait of Thomas Eakins,  Philadelphia's most brilliant and controversial artist.

Abingdon Theatre Company presents the world premiere of THE MOTHER OF INVENTION, a new play by Academy Award, Drama Desk Award and Outer Critics Circle Award-winner James Lecesne (The Absolute Brightness of Leonard Pelkey, Word of Mouth, Trevor). The official press opening is tonight, February 9, in Abingdon's June Havoc Theatre (312 West 36th Street). Artistic Director Tony Speciale, who also directed The Absolute Brightness of Leonard Pelkey is set to direct.
