ESPN and Cowboys Extend Cowboys Classic Labor Day Weekend Matchup Through 2024

ESPN and the Dallas Cowboys have extended their agreement to bring a top college football game to the club's Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas during the Labor Day weekend that traditionally kicks off each season. The extension to continue the Cowboys Classic will begin with the 2015 contest and conclude with the 2024 game.

Pumpkin Theatre continues our 45th Anniversary Season, "A Celebration of Imagination" with Quest of the ZIZ Bird. A NEW PLAY with book and lyrics by Pumpkin Theatre Producing Artistic Director, Jimi Kinstle and music by Ryan Michael Haase (Artistic Director, Stillpointe Theatre Initiative) based on the children's book The Hardest Word, by Jacqueline Jules. Quest of the Ziz Bird has been adapted to the stage by Pumpkin Theatre in collaboration with the Louise D & Morton J Macks Center for Jewish Education (CJE) (www.cjebaltimore.org) and the PJ Library as part of an outreach project for both organizations.

Signature Theatre Announces Casting for HOLIDAY FOLLIES

Signature Theatre pulls some of DC's brightest stars into the spirit of the holidays with this year's original production of Holiday Follies. The popular series, now in its third season, will feature performers Bobby Smith (See What I Wanna See, Show Boat), Eleasha Gamble (Chess, Les Miserables), James Gardiner (The Boy Detective Fails, [title of show]), and Rachel Zampelli (Dying City, Brother Russia), under the direction of Walter Ware III. With a cabaret set list built to change from night to night, Signature's forecast calls for a special week of wintry mix.

Here in Baltimore, it seems to be Bus Stop season. It's been less than a month since I reviewed the Spotlighters' community theater production of the William Inge 1955 classic; now it's Center Stage's turn. And of course Center Stage (or is it Centerstage these days?) gives it a full-dress professional staging. The difference is surprisingly great.
