Signature in the Schools Presents REVOLUTION World Premiere, Beginning Today

Signature in the Schools, the education program at Signature Theatre, presents the world-premiere production of Revolution, written by acclaimed writer/director Joe Calarco and directed by Education Director David Zobell. Students from Arlington high schools join Signature actor Evan Casey (Really Really, The Boy Detective Fails) and a professional design team for this thought-provoking new drama, which explores far-reaching questions of identity and community.

The Dallas Opera, Cowboys Stadium Announce a Simulcast of Puccini's TURANDOT

The Dallas Opera, in partnership with Cowboys Stadium and with support from The Dallas Foundation, is extremely proud to announce the second classical music simulcast conducted in a North Texas sports venue. The announcement was made this afternoon at a gathering of representatives of several prominent organizations and local media at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington. Participants included Dallas Opera General Director and CEO Keith Cerny; Gene Jones; Charlotte Jones Anderson, Executive Vice-President Brand Management/President of Charities; Dallas Foundations President Mary Jalonick; and Nicole Small, CEO of the Perot Museum of Nature and Science.

STYX & More to Perform at 2013 OC Fair at Pacific Amphitheatre This Summer

Bridgit Mendler and Austin Mahone will perform on Wednesday, July 24, The Dirty Heads with opening performances by The Expendables and Common Sense will perform on Sunday, July 28 and Styx will perform on Friday, August 2, as part of the Summer Concert Series at the Pacific Amphitheatre at the 2013 OC Fair.

Dallas Theater Center Welcomes Liz Mikel and Cedric Neal for Centerstage 2013 Gala, 5/11

Dallas Theater Center announced today that Brierley Resident Acting Company member Liz Mikel and former Company member Cedric Neal will headline Centerstage 2013 on Saturday, May 11. Co-chaired by Rusty Duvall and Deborah McMurray, with honorary chairs Diane and Hal Brierley, Centerstage 2013 will take place at the Dee and Charles Wyly Theatre, which will be transformed for the evening.

Kenny Chesney Announces Dates for 2013 No Shoes Nation Tour

Kenny Chesney Tour 2013 has a concert planned almost every weekend this summer until August 24, with Corona Light as the official tour sponsor. Chesney will be collaborating with other popular country musicians like Kacey Musgraves and Eric Church for his concerts.

Synetic Theater Opens THE TEMPEST, 2/21

Synetic's visual poetry will bring Prospero's magical island to life on a water-filled stage in the ninth installment of the Silent Shakespeare Series, The Tempest, opening Thursday, February 21. A romantic drama of epic proportions, The Tempest features spirits, monsters, witches, drunken fools and lithe lovers who will contort and cavort with passion and bravado in this larger-than-life production.

Pumpkin Theatre Presents World Premiere of QUEST OF THE ZIZ BIRD, Now thru 2/3

Pumpkin Theatre continues our 45th Anniversary Season, "A Celebration of Imagination" with Quest of the ZIZ Bird. A NEW PLAY with book and lyrics by Pumpkin Theatre Producing Artistic Director, Jimi Kinstle and music by Ryan Michael Haase (Artistic Director, Stillpointe Theatre Initiative) based on the children's book The Hardest Word, by Jacqueline Jules. Quest of the Ziz Bird has been adapted to the stage by Pumpkin Theatre in collaboration with the Louise D & Morton J Macks Center for Jewish Education (CJE) (www.cjebaltimore.org) and the PJ Library as part of an outreach project for both organizations.

YOUNG ARTIST CONCERTO AND ARIA COMPETITION Sets Finals for 2/16

The Music Institute of Chicago, collaborating with the Ars Viva Symphony Orchestra, the Lake Forest Symphony, and Maestro Alan Heatherington, presents the final round of competition in the annual Young Artist Concerto and Aria Competition Wednesday, February 13 at 7 p.m. at Nichols Concert Hall, 1490 Chicago Avenue, Evanston. The event is free and open to the public.

The F.U.D.G.E. (FRIENDS UNITED DEVELOPING GENUINE ENTERTAINMENT) Theatre Company will present their 12th Anniversary Season's production of "AS BEES IN HONEY DROWN," 'Douglas Carter Beane's Award-winning comedy about deception, fraud, embezzlement, sexual politics, elusive fame, amoral women, sitting-duck men and revenge, which will open tonight, January 25 at The Factory Theatre (791 Tremont Street, Boston, MA - between Camden Street and Northampton Street) where it will play through Sunday, January 27.
