The F.U.D.G.E. (FRIENDS UNITED DEVELOPING GENUINE ENTERTAINMENT) Theatre Company will present their 12th Anniversary Season's production of "AS BEES IN HONEY DROWN," 'Douglas Carter Beane's Award-winning comedy about deception, fraud, embezzlement, sexual politics, elusive fame, amoral women, sitting-duck men and revenge, which will open tonight, January 25 at The Factory Theatre (791 Tremont Street, Boston, MA - between Camden Street and Northampton Street) where it will play through Sunday, January 27.

Pace University's Pace New Musicals program, dedicated to the discovery of new theater works, and Ryan Scott Oliver, composer-lyricist and producer, will present a staged reading of I Capture the Castle by Marion Adler, Peter Foley and Cara Reichel January 23-27, and its inaugural New Musical Lab, a concert reading of Make Me Bad, by Drew Gasparini and Alex Brightman, which will be presented January 26-27.

The writing teams, representing more than twenty new musicals, will populate the campus, creating a truly exciting environment for discovery and inspiration.

A NEW PLAY with book and lyrics by Pumpkin Theatre Producing Artistic Director, Jimi Kinstle and music by Ryan Michael Haase (Artistic Director, Stillpointe Theatre Initiative) based on the children's book The Hardest Word, by Jacqueline Jules. Quest of the Ziz Bird has been adapted to the stage by Pumpkin Theatre in collaboration with the Louise D & Morton J Macks Center for Jewish Education (CJE) (www.cjebaltimore.org) and the PJ Library as part of an outreach project for both organizations.

Children don't have to be botanists-in-training to discover the message of this book: "All plants are interesting, even the weeds." Young readers are sure to be intrigued by the wide variety of shapes, sizes, and functions in flowers, fruit trees, and all sorts of other flora seen in bright and whimsical illustrations by artist Phil Smith in just released How Does a Plant Grow? NSTA's new title is written in rhyme and presents the basic structures and functions of seed plants as inquiry explorations. Including concepts of how seeds sprout to why leaves turn to the light to the vital roles of stems and roots, K-6 grade children will be inspired by the science while reciting new poems.

In this funny story, How Tall Was Milton?, it takes a village to figure out the height of Milton the friendly giant. Written as a fairy tale in the classical tradition with a kingdom and a giant, the townspeople attempt to gauge how tall Milton is by first using the baker's hands, then the shoemaker's feet, and then a carpenter's stick to win the king's prize of a pot of gold. Quickly seeing the inconsistency in the size of any hand or foot as a unit of measurement, young readers learn along with the characters that a unit of measurement must be standard to determine precisely how tall Milton is.
