Theatre Arlington Board President, Dr. Aaron Reich, is thrilled to announce that Steven D. Morris has a new title. After a unanimous vote in their Tuesday, November 27th board meeting, Morris will be the permanent Executive Producer of Theatre Arlington, effective immediately. 'Steve has demonstrated tremendous leadership and artistic excellence during his 6 month tenure earning him the permanent top spot at the Theatre," says Reich. Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater announces the full company for the world premiere of Kenneth Lin's timely cautionary tale of capitalism run amok, Kleptocracy. Inspired by the power struggle between the richest of the Oligarchs and an ambitious Vladimir Putin after the collapse of the Soviet Union, Lin (House of Cards) explores U.S. - Russia relations then and now. Directed by Jackson Gay, and by special arrangement with Robert Ahrens, Mickey Liddell and Michael Mills, Kleptocracy runs January 18 - February 24, 2019 in the Kreeger Theater.

Today the 34th Santa Barbara International Film Festival announced its recipients for the Virtuosos Award presented by UGG, an honor created to recognize a select group of talent whose noteworthy performances in film have elevated them into the national cinematic dialogue. Yalitza Aparicio (Roma) Sam Elliott (A Star is Born), Elsie Fisher (Eighth Grade) Claire Foy (First Man), Richard E. I've come to expect the unexpected from Synetic Theater's exquisite, wordless productions. Somehow they're always able to dazzle me, and their holiday season production of MY FATHER'S DRAGON, based on Ruth Stiles Gannett's children's novel, is an absolute gem. Wide-eyed performers, memorable scenes, and delightful puppets (puppet design by Matthew McGee) make this one a must-see for children (5+) and adults alike.

Today the 34th Santa Barbara International Film Festival announced that Michael B. Jordan is set to receive the Cinema Vanguard Award for his work in two of the year's critically acclaimed, culturally significant and record-breaking box office hits, Black Panther and Metro Goldwyn Mayer Pictures (MGM), Warner Bros. Pictures and New Line Cinema's Creed II. Jordan will be honored at the Arlington Theater in Santa Barbara, CA on Thursday, February 7th.

'Daylight' has been moving steadily up and currently sits at #28 on the US Alternative Airplay Chart, making 'Daylight' the second song from I Hope You're Happy to impact this chart. The fact that I Hope You're Happy was released on indie label Up/Down-Brando Records makes this feat even more notable. 

In the wake of the triumphant headline stand at the Austin City Limits festival that the Austin American Statesman called 'A Marathon to Remember Forever,'  Paul McCartney has added four new stadium plays to the upcoming U.S. leg of his new Freshen Up tour. The newly confirmed dates make for a total of 12 confirmed shows on Paul's first extended Stateside run since the One On One Tour that played to some two million fans around the world during 2016 and 2017.

The iconic holiday classic movie, Miracle on 34th Street, first brought joy into the hearts of millions in the summer of 1947. Although it was and is most definitely a Christmas movie, the original producers chose to release it in May because more people went to the movies in the summer. The fact that it was a Christmas movie was not even included in the marketing campaign. It was kept a secret! Hard to imagine that now, as it has become a holiday tradition for generations.
