X Announces Additional Summer Tour Dates

Avant Bard has announced that Khalil Kain has had to withdraw from the cast of TOPDOG/UNDERDOG due to unforeseen personal circumstances. But Avant Bard is happy to announce that Jeremy Keith Hunter has joined the production. Jeremy will play opposite Louis E. Davis in the Pulitzer Prize-winning dark comedy by Suzan-Lori Parks about two African American brothers grappling for destiny. The production runs from March 14 to April 14, 2019, at Gunston Arts Center Theatre Two in Arlington.

In an announcement during the Finals for RFD-TV's The American, The Cowboy Channel, announced a partnership with Cheyenne Frontier Days to broadcast live all nine days of rodeo action and feature other Western lifestyle activities from their "World's Largest Outdoor Rodeo & Western Celebration." The event and live coverage takes place July 19-28, 2019, from Cheyenne, Wyo. Broadcasting the event will help fill the need for more Western sports and Western lifestyle coverage and attract new fans to rodeo.

New Orleans Jazz Orchestra Returns from 3-Year Recording Hiatus with "Songs: The Music of Allen Toussaint" on Storyville Records

The renowned New Orleans Jazz Orchestra reflects on the wide-ranging influence of the Big Easy's own Allen Toussaint, the legendary composer, singer, pianist, and producer, with the March 29 digital release of "Songs: The Music of Allen Toussaint" on Storyville Records (physical release is set for April 19). The album features six songs by Toussaint and one associated with him, as well as two original tribute pieces. It also marks the NOJO leadership debut of drummerartistic director Adonis Rose, who assumed the mantle in 2016 to navigate the 18-piece orchestra out of the troubled waters surrounding its now-departed founder.

X Announce Additional Spring & Summer Tour Dates

The iconic punk rock band, X, have announced additional dates for the first leg of their upcoming spring/summer tour plans.  The first tour leg will begin on May 2 in Hermosa Beach, CA at a VIP party for the BeachLife Festival after which  Exene Cervenka, John Doe, Billy Zoom, and DJ Bonebrake will then join the Violent Femmes for a 9-date co-headlining tour starting May 6th at Humphrey's in San Diego, CA and continuing on through May 17thin St. Louis at The Pageant.In addition, X and Violent Femmes will be among the top stars at Arlington, TX's upcoming KAABOO Texas, set for Saturday, May 11th alongside The Killers, Kid Rock, Sting, Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Avett Brothers and many more.
