The Stella Adler Studio of Acting will premiere a new adaptation of Anton Chekhov's classic The Seagull, the forerunner of modern character-driven dramas with interwoven storylines such as Downton Abbey and Mad Men. Celebrated director John Gould Rubin (LAByrinth Theater Company) brings a realistic, deconstructed and more accessible version of the play to the stage with a new translation by Royston Coppenger.

Celebrated director John Gould Rubin (LAByrinth Theater Company) brings a realistic, deconstructed and more accessible version of the play to the stage with a new translation by Royston Coppenger.

Tamsin Greig and John Sessions will lead the cast in William Boyd's debut play, directed by Nina Raine, which opens at Hampstead Theatre at the end of February. Other members of this outstanding cast include Jonathan Bailey, Natasha Little, Eve Ponsonby and Catrin Stewart.

The Public Theater (Artistic Director Oskar Eustis and Executive Director Patrick Willingham) announced today that single tickets are on sale for the spring 2013 season at The Public's newly revitalized downtown home at Astor Place that will include new plays and musicals as well as the return of acclaimed downtown artists Richard Foreman, Guillermo Calderón, Alex Timbers and David Byrne along with the world premiere of a Public Theater Emerging Writers' Group Playwright Dominique Morisseau.

Classic Stage Company, under the leadership of Artistic Director Brian Kulick and Executive Director Greg Reiner, today announced complete casting for the company's upcoming new production of Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine's Tony Award-winning musical PASSION, to be directed by John Doyle (director of the acclaimed Broadway revivals of Sondheim's Sweeney Todd and Company). Joining previously announced Melissa Errico (Clara), Judy Kuhn (Fosca) and Ryan Silverman (Giorgio) in the production are Stephen Bogardus (Colonel Ricci), Jeffry Denman (Lieutenant Barri), Jason Michael Evans (Private Augenti), Amy Justman (understudy), Ken Krugman (Lieutenant Torasso), Orville Mendoza (Sergeant Lombardi), Tom Nelis (Doctor Tambourri) and Will Reynolds (Major Rizzoli/Ludovic). PASSION is slated to begin performances on February 8, 2013 at CSC (136 East 13th Street), with an official press opening scheduled for Thursday, February 28, playing a limited engagement through Sunday, April 7. Tickets will go on sale to the public beginning at Noon on Thursday, January 3.

The Seagull Project is a dedicated process of 10 Actors who have rehearsed for 9 months in a more traditional Russian way which is almost unheard of in American Theatre to bring Chekhov's masterpiece to life. Presented in cooperation with ACT's Central Heating Lab, The Seagull by Anton Chekhov runs January 25th - Feb. 10th and features some of Seattle's top acting talent. Auden. THE CAUCASIAN CHALK CIRCLE will begin performances Thursday, May 2 at CSC (136 East 13th Street) for a limited engagement. Tickets will go on sale to the general public on Tuesday, April 2.
