The Classical Theatre Company's (CTC) first production of their 2012-2013 Main Stage Season as well as the company's first production in their new performance venue and first home, Studio 101 at Spring Street Studios, will be Miss Julie by August Strindberg. The production runs three weeks from September 26th-October 14th 2012.

Odyssey Theatre Ensemble (Ron Sossi, Artistic Director) and Impro Theatre (Dan O'Connor, Artistic Director) announce a limited engagement of two productions in repertory as part of the Odyssey's 2012 subscription season. The West Los Angeles premieres of CHEKHOV UNSCRIPTED and TWILIGHT ZONE UNSCRIPTED begin on September 15, 2012 and will perform through November 4, 2012.
Joely Richardson to Join Ethan Hawke in Classic Stage Company's IVANOV

Classic Stage Company, under the leadership of Artistic Director Brian Kulick and Executive Director Greg Reiner, has announced that acclaimed stage, screen and television actress Joely Richardson (bio below) has joined the cast of their upcoming production of Anton Chekhov's IVANOV, starring Ethan Hawke and directed by Austin Pendleton, which begins performances Wednesday, October 17 at CSC (136 East 13th Street) as the first show of the award-winning company's 45th Anniversary Season. Hawke, in the title role, and Richardson, who will play Anna, will be joined in IVANOV by Glenn Fitzgerald (Borkin), Roberta Maxwell (Zinaida), George Morfogen (Shabelsky), Juliet Rylance (Sasha), Jonathan Marc Sherman (Lvov) and Louis Zorich (Lebedev). IVANOV, which will have its official opening on Sunday, November 4, will play a limited engagement through Sunday, November 25. Tickets go on sale to the general public on Thursday, September 20.

Closing the PCPA 2011-2012 season is the classic masterpiece by Anton Chekhov, Three Sisters. It will play in the Severson Theatre tonight, September 6 - 30. Opening performance is Saturday September 8, 7pm. Chekhov's brilliant tragi-comedy invites us to provincial 19th Century Russia, and paints a portrait of a family in crisis and a world in transition. His belief in a dynamic future with all its possibilities is tempered by the harsh light of day, and a duel.

Theatre Works opens its 2012-13 season with Christopher Hampton's new version of Anton Chekhov's tragi-comic masterpiece, The Seagull. The cast also includesGordon Clapp, Stephen Collins, Logan Fahey, Cindy Katz and Josh Stamberg, with Rosalind Ayres directing. David Gonski, Chairman of Sydney Theatre Company, today announced that Andrew Upton has been appointed Artistic Director of Sydney Theatre Company commencing 1 January 2013. For the past five years, Andrew Upton has been Co Artistic Director of the Company with Cate Blanchett. The duo's final program - for 2013 - will be announced on 6 September this year.
