With a healthy dose of hilarity, heart and humility Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike joins the Bernstein repertory with director Matthew Penn at the helm. Christopher Durang's Tony-award winning homage to Chekhov leaves no stone unturned when it comes to family dynamics, sibling rivalries, love, lust, hopes and dreams in this razor sharp comedy. The stalwart cast includes audience favorites Tod Randolph and Elizabeth Aspenlieder, and S&Co. newcomers Jim Frangione, Angel Moore, Mat Leonard and Olivia Saccomanno. The Old Globe today announced the full cast and creative team for the third production of the 2014 Summer Season, Ronald Harwood's comedy Quartet, directed by Richard Seer (Other Desert Cities, God of Carnage, The Last Romance). Harwood received an Academy Award for his screenplay of The Pianist and was nominated for The Diving Bell and the Butterfly and The Dresser (also a hit on Broadway and the West End). Quartet will play in the Sheryl and Harvey White Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center, July 25 - August 24, 2014.

William Shakespeare's famed star-crossed lovers bare their passion Uptown this summer as The Classical Theatre of Harlem (Ty Jones, producing artistic director; David Roberts, managing director) presents Romeo n Juliet at the Richard Rodgers Amphitheater in Marcus Garvey Park. Justin Emeka, who edited and adapted the tragedy to bring the colorful characters of Harlem to life, returns for the second year in a row as director. Performances, which are free and open to the public, run from July 5 through 27.

According to Official London Theatre, the Young Vic has announced the cast for Katie Mitchell's production of Anton Chekhov's THE CHERRY ORCHARD, set to run October 10 - November 29, 2014. Dominic Rowan will star as 'Alexander Lopakhin' opposite Kate Duchene in the play adapted by Olivier winner Simon Stephens (A Doll's House, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time). Also starring are Angus Wright, Gawn Grainger and Paul Hilton.

After a sold-out and acclaimed run of Uncle Vanya, The Russian Arts Theater & Studio's comedic production The Bear & Other Jokes by Anton Chekhov takes the stage.
