Disney's THE LION KING will close at DPAC stage January 30, 2011.

Disney's The Lion King, playing at the Durham Performing Arts Center through January 30, is theatrical storytelling at its most spectacular. Take a familiar father/son story that borrows heavily from Shakespeare, the Greeks, and the Bible. Add incredible, near unimaginable, artistry - puppets, masks, glorious costumes and scenery. Mix in a heavy dose of humor and catchy, familiar music. Throw in a mix of African traditions and some Asian influences and you have one of the finest and most collaborative pieces of popular theatre that has ever graced the stage.

Filipino-American Broadway star Adam Jacobs ('Les Miserables', 'Mamma Mia') is currently essaying the coveted role of Simba in Disney Theatrical Productions' North American touring production of ground-breaking, multi-award winning musical 'The Lion King'. The show plays the Cadillac Palace Theatre in Chicago, IL until Saturday, November 27, 2010. Upcoming tour engagements will include Durham, NC January 4 to 30, 2011; Providence, RI February 1 to 20, 2011; Schenectady, NY February 22 to March 20, 2011; Rochester, NY March 22 to April 17, 2011; Toronto, ON Canada April 19 to May 22, 2011; Dayton, OH June 14 to July 10, 2011; and Montreal, QC Canada August 9 to September 4, 2011.

The Chicago return of Disney's THE LION KING opens tonight, Friday, October 1 at the Cadillac Palace Theatre for a limited engagement of nine weeks though Saturday, November 27.

The Vancouver premiere of Disney's THE LION KING opens tonight, Thursday, July 15 at 7:30pm at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre for a limited engagement of four weeks through Sunday, August 8. In Vancouver, THE LION KING plays Tuesday through Saturday evenings at 7:30pm, Sunday evening 6:30pm, Saturday matinees at 2pm, Sunday matinees at 1pm with an additional matinee performance on Wednesday, August 4 at 2pm. There will be no 6:30pm performance on Sunday, August 8.

Paper Mill Playhouse will close its production of Lost in Yonkers on March 14th. Directed by Michael Bloom, Lost in Yonkers began performances at the Millburn Theater on February 17th and opened February 21st. Lost in Yonkers was selected by the New Jersey State Council on the Arts as part of the American Masterpieces Series in New Jersey. American Masterpieces is a program of the National Endowment for the Arts.

Please be advised that the 1:30pm and 7:30pm performances of Lost in Yonkers at Paper Mill Playhouse on Thursday, February 25th are cancelled due to inclement weather. Lost in Yonkers ticket holders can call the Paper Mill Playhouse Box Office at 973-376-4343 to reschedule into another performance.
