According to Deadline, FAST & FURIOUS' Lucas Black has signed on to join Scott Bakula in CBS's upcoming NCIS spin-off, which will air in a two-part episode this Spring. Gary Glasberg and Mark Harmon will serve as executive producers. Zoe McLellan also co-stars.

Benaroya Pictures and The Genre Company announced today they have set Samuel L. Jackson to co-star with John Cusack in the apocalyptic thriller CELL, based on the bestselling novel by Stephen King. Tod “Kip” Williams will direct, with production set to begin in January. Benaroya Pictures is financing.

The winners of the Directors Guild of America Outstanding Directorial Achievement Awards for 2012 were announced tonight during the 65th Annual DGA Awards Dinner at the Ray Dolby Ballroom at Hollywood & Highland in Los Angeles. Lena Dunham won the DGA's Award for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Comedy Series for Girls.
