It's getting near the end of the season at the Met in New York and it's nice to see that they're still bringing out their “A” game, with a splendidly cast run of Tchaikovsky's EUGENE ONEGIN, with the wonderful Met orchestra under the sensitive baton of Robin Ticciati, music director at the Glyndebourne Festival. The Met's chorus, under Donald Palumbo, was also in fine fettle.

On May 4, 2017, LA Opera will present soprano Anna Netrebko and tenor Yusif Eyvazov in concert with the LA Opera Orchestra, conducted by Jader Bignamini. The concert will take place at 7:30pm at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, located at 135 North Grand Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90012.

On Saturday, April 22 at 1pm, the Peterborough Players will present a live streamed broadcast of the Metropolitan Opera's production of Tchaikovsky's Eugene Onegin. 

With 12 titles, the Royal Opera House Cinema Season 2017/18 is set to thrill audiences in more than 1500 cinemas in over 40 countries. Including some of The Royal Opera and The Royal Ballet's much-loved classical repertory, the world's top ballet and opera stars, and four brand new productions, over 50 cinemas throughout the United States will show the recorded performances from Covent Garden on dates to be announced from October 2017 through July 2018.

An extra performance of Brodsky/Baryshnikov has been added on 7th May due to high levels of interest. Found somewhere between a play, a poetry recital and a piece of performance art, this UK premiere is being staged at the West End's Apollo Theatre for a limited run.

The 2017 Schwabacher Debut Recitals series concludes on Sunday, April 30 at 5:30 p.m., with a recital by a trio of San Francisco Opera Adler Fellows featured with collaborative pianist Warren Jones in a program of Italian and French repertoire.

They will present The Woods: A Rom-Com Recital, a series of songs by American composers compiled by Reed into a narrative with original dialogue. The performance will be directed by first-year San Francisco Opera Adler Fellow Aria Umezawa.

The Ridgefield Playhouse and Craig's Fine Jewelry Live in HD Series brings a live screening of Tchaikovsky's Eugene Oneginto the big screen on Saturday, April 22 at 12:55 p.m.  Anna Netrebko reprises one of her most acclaimed roles as Tatiana, the heroine of Tchaikovsky's opera, adapted from Pushkin's classic novel. Dmitri Hvorostovsky stars as the title character, who rejects Tatiana's love until it's too late. Robin Ticciati, Music Director of Glyndebourne Festival Opera,conducts the revival ofDeborah Warner's staging, which opened the Met's 2013-14 season. 

After a lavishly praised star turn in Washington National Opera's revival of Dead Man Walking this winter, Grammy Award-winning mezzo-soprano Susan Graham turns to a U.S. tour in April of her equally successful and wide-ranging recital program, “Frauenliebe und -leben: Variations,” inspired by and centered on Schumann's iconic song cycle, with longtime recital partner Malcolm Martineau. She also joins a cast of the world's greatest opera luminaries to celebrate the Metropolitan Opera House's 50 Years at Lincoln Center in an Anniversary Gala; performs selections from Mahler's Des Knaben Wunderhorn with the Met Orchestra and Esa-Pekka Salonen in Carnegie Hall; and sings Berlioz's La mort de Cléopâtre, a staple of her signature French repertoire, with the San Antonio Symphony.

In addition to the previously announced artists appearing at the Met's 50th Anniversary at Lincoln Center Gala on May 7, singers slated to appear include Stephanie Blythe, Joseph Calleja, Dwayne Croft, David Daniels, Yusif Eyvazov, Vittorio Grigolo, Christopher Job, Latonia Moore, Yunpeng Wang, and Dolora Zajick.
