The BBC has announced today that Lucie Jones is one of the six artists chosen to perform the songs competing for the UK's entry into the Eurovision Song Contest.

Thomas Arnold, Heather Burns, Max Casella, Clint Dyer, Danny Huston, Ajay Naidu and Madeleine Potter cast in The Kid Stays in the Picture based on the life story of legendary Hollywood producer Robert Evans directed by Simon McBurney.

The 20th Anniversary production of Rent celebrated its opening last night 13 December at the St. James Theatre, London, and will run through 28 January 2017 before continuing on tour until May 2017. BroadwayWorld has photos from the festivities below!

Twenty years after it first premiered off Broadway, Jonathan Larson's iconic musical Rent has made a much anticipated return to the London stage. Following a group of artists living in New York City's East Village in the 1990's, struggling to pay the Rent, maintain their relationships and friendships and a number of them dealing with their HIV diagnosis, it is often wondered if audiences will still connect with the tribulations the characters go through. However the themes of loss, community, friendship and love are as prominent now as they were over two decades ago.

David Tennant, who plays the title role in Patrick Marber's Don Juan in Soho, will be joined by Adrian Scarborough as Stan and Gawn Grainger as Louis.

Over the next six years, the RSC aims to produce every single Shakespeare play. Its 2016 season features Cymbeline, one of the lesser known but not lesser performed plays; this production is a transfer from Stratford-Upon-Avon, and there have been two productions at Shakespeare's Globe this year alone. Why the sudden revival? A fool boasts 'Britain is a world by itself' (and no, I don't mean Nigel Farage). In a post-Brexit Britain, these words ring truer than ever before in this bold production, which ironically seems to be lacking a sense of unity and cohesion too.

Gillian Bevan has done everything from Holby City and Teachers on TV to RSC productions and extensive musical theatre, including Into the Woods, Billy Elliot and Grand Hotel. She's currently starring in the RSC's Cymbeline - the first woman to play the title role for the company. The production comes to the Barbican next week.

The stage version of THE EXORCIST, which first debuted at the Geffen Playhouse in Los Angeles in 2012, is making its UK debut just in time for Halloween.

Broadwayworld took a first look inside rehearsals for the upcoming 20th anniversary production of RENT that will be touring the UK until June 2017 and playing the St. James Theatre in London over Christmas. 

A new production of The Exorcist, directed by Sean Mathias, will receive its UK premiere at Birmingham Repertory Theatre from Friday 21 October - Saturday 5 November 2016. The cast features Jenny Seagrove in the role of Chris, Peter Bowles as Father Merrin and Adam Garcia as Damien.

The 20th Anniversary production of Jonathan Larson's Pulitzer Prize- and Tony Award-winning musical RENT is the fastest selling show in the history of the St. James Theatre, having sold the most tickets not only in a 24-hour period after on-sale, but also in the first week of an on-sale period. RENT also breaks the record for the most amount of money taken on the first day of sales, beating the theatre's previous fastest selling show record-holders, Sideways and The Pianist of Willesden Lane.
