Trinity Rep continues its 52nd season Rebels, Renegades and Pioneers with To Kill a Mockingbird, based on the novel by Harper Lee, adapted by Christopher Sergel and a special limited run presentation of companion piece Blues for Mister Charlie, by James Baldwin. Both productions are directed by Brian McEleney and feature the same cast. The productions will be performed in limited rotating repertory.
THE HEIDI CHRONICLES follows the career, social activities and love life of Heidi Holland, through 1970's & 80's . While hers is not an everywoman story, there is still something that every woman today has gone through or will face in the future, namely, the quest to 'have it all', the question of whether or not that's even possible and what it means to be a feminist. If that all sounds too heavy, don't worry. This play has a lightness of tone that belies the serious issues underneath, and really strikes the perfect note of intelligent discourse with a heavy dose of levity.

Door-slamming farce can be a tough beast to tame. There's often so much going on, so much quick-moving action, doors opening and closing, characters literally running from place to place, that it can easily devolve into a confused mess. And there are usually so many witty retorts and double entendres, also often delivered very quickly, that they can sometimes be missed altogether. Trinity Rep announces the addition of a new offering from their Young Actors Summer Institute (YASI). YASI Masters is a week-long program for high school students looking to deepen their theater practice and dig into intensive and concentrated training with top experts in their fields. The teaching roster boasts Trinity Rep company members and professional artists from around the region. The session runs August 11-14, 2014 with courses running 9:30-12:30pm and 1:30-4:30pm each day.
On some occasions, perhaps many, a great idea or concept almost effortlessly becomes a great play, movie, television show, etc. It's just the right combination of elements, brought together in exactly the right way, creating a perfect storm kind of event. On the other hand, there are many times when a great concept, a great idea, does not translate into a great finished product.
