The cast and creative team of the hit Broadway musical HAIR, including Tony Award nominee director Diane Paulus joined friends and fans for the release party launch of the Ghostlight Records New Broadway Cast Recording of HAIR. The celebration took place onTuesday, May 26, 2009 at Bumble and bumble which is located at 415 West 13th Street (between 9th Ave and Washington St.). BroadwayWorld's cameras were there for the festive 'love-in' with the cast.

The producers of HAIR: The American Tribal Love-Rock Musical have announced that the 37-member cast and band will go into the studio on Monday, April 6th, to record the show's new Broadway cast album. Production is being rushed for the highly anticipated recording which will be released officially this Spring by Ghostlight Records. The CD will be produced by Kurt Deutsch, Joel Moss & Galt McDermott with Bill Rosenfield acting as Executive Producer.

Miramax's Doubt, which stars Meryl Streep, Amy Adams, Philip Seymour Hoffman and Viola Davis continues a solid run at the box office. BoxOfficeMojo.com reports that Doubt has now taken in more than $25 million domestically. John Patrick Shanley's film adaptaion of his Tony winning play has gotten excellent word of mouth and reviews and is being discussed as a possible Oscar contender for the upcoming Academy Awards. Set at a Catholic school in the Bronx, Doubt centers on a nun who grows suspicious when a priest begins taking too much interest in a young black student. Is she being overly protective or not protective enough? And can she work within the system to discover the truth? A charismatic priest, Father Flynn, is trying to upend the schools' strict customs, which have long been fiercely guarded by Sister Aloysius Beauvier, the iron-gloved Principal who believes in the power of fear and discipline. Miramax's Doubt, which stars Meryl Streep, Amy Adams, Philip Seymour Hoffman and Viola Davis successfully expanded from 39 theaters to 1,267 reports Variety.
Doubt came in No. 10 for the three-day weekend, grossing $5.7 million for a per-screen average of $4,479 and a current total of $8.8 million in its third weekend.
