BLOODY, BLOODY ANDREW JACKSON, PICKLE MY MONKEY and More Set for MET's 2012-13 Season

Maryland Ensemble Theatre (MET) has announced its 2012-13, 15th anniversary mainstage season. This coming season will feature classic, contemporary and original productions including a recent Off-Broadway smash musical, a Tony-winning Hitchcock adaptation and a time-honored holiday tale. This season will also include a new production of Maryland Ensemble's first show, an original work that MET premiered more than 15 years ago.

Clark, Harris, Harada & More Join Osnes and Fontana in CINDERELLA; To Play Broadway Theatre in Spring of 2013

Just announced is official word that the new production of RODGERS & HAMMERSTEIN'S CINDERELLA will arrive on Broadway this season with previews set for January 21, 2013 prior to Opening Night on February 21 at the Broadway Theatre (1681 Broadway), it has been announced by the musical's producers Robyn Goodman, Stephen Kocis and Jill Furman in association with Center Theatre Group.

New Line Theatre's 'Offline' Hosts 1970s Game Show Fundraiser Tonight, 8/4

New Line Theatre, 'the Bad Boy of Musical Theatre,' has created a new side identity called New Line Theatre Off Line, which will be a framework for the New Line actors to explore other music and Theatre Projects, including New Line's own unique brand of adult cabaret, musical improv, and other kinds of performance opportunities, as well as master classes, workshops, and more. New Line actor Mike Dowdy (Forbidden Planet, Spelling Bee, The Wild Party, Evita, Two Gentlemen of Verona, bare, Cry-Baby, High Fidelity) will head up the Off Line brand under his new title of Associate Artistic Director.

PETER AND THE STARCATCHER Releases New Block of Tickets Through January 6, 2013

The producers of Peter and the Starcatcher, a new play by Tony Award-nominee Rick Elice, announced today that a new block of tickets are now on sale, through January 6, 2013. Directed by Tony Award-winner Roger Rees and Tony Award-nominee Alex Timbers, Peter and the Starcatcher began performances on March 28, 2012 and opened April 15, 2012, and is playing at Broadway's Brooks Atkinson Theatre (256 West 47th Street).

Victoria Clark, Harriet Harris, Ann Harada and Peter Bartlett will join Laura Osnes as Cinderella and Santino Fontana as the Prince in a workshop of the new production of Rodgers & Hammerstein's CINDERELLA August 2nd and 3rd in New York, it has been announced by the musical's producer Center Theatre Group in association with Robyn Goodman, Stephen Kocis and Jill Furman.

The Public and Theater for a New Audience Announce the Wallace Shawn-André Gregory Project

The Public Theater (Artistic Director Oskar Eustis; Executive Director Patrick Willingham) and Theater for a New Audience (Founding Artistic Director Jeffrey Horowitz; Managing Director Dorothy Ryan and Chairman of the Board, Henry Christensen III) will present THE WALLACE SHAWN-ANDRÉ GREGORY PROJECT in 2013, a celebration of the remarkable 40-year collaboration between Wallace Shawn and Andre Gregory. The two plays, THE DESIGNATED MOURNER and GRASSES OF A THOUSAND COLORS, will offer a long overdue retrospective of Shawn's work as well as an opportunity for him to appear on the New York stage again under Gregory's direction. The Public Theater presented Shawn's first play in New York, Our Late Night, in 1975, directed by Gregory.

INCOMING! The Public Theater's Under the Radar Festival will present new work at Joe's Pub, The Public Theater's most intimate performance space, on August 23 and 24. INCOMING! offers emerging talent the freedom and flexibility to experiment with new material - sometimes for the first time - in front of a live audience. This year's lineup includes Obie winner Edwin Lee Gibson's Five ' Til, the Brooklyn-based theater company Lilac co's Drusi Is Coming and playwright Christina Anderson's Hollow Roots.

The Public Theater Begins Previews 8/6 for RICHARD III

The Public Theater (Artistic Director Oskar Eustis; Executive Director Patrick Willingham) will begin previews on Monday, August 6 for The Mobile Shakespeare Unit's RICHARD III, directed by Amanda Dehnert. Following a three-week tour, bringing free Shakespeare to audiences who have limited or no access to the arts, RICHARD III will run at The Public Theater through Saturday, August 25, with an official press opening on Saturday, August 11. Tickets are $15 and on sale now.

Vassar Powerhouse's MURDER BALLAD Plays Added Workshop Performance Tonight, 7/29

The cast features Tony nominees Daniel Breaker (Passing Strange; Shrek: The Musical) and Will Swenson (Hair; Priscilla Queen of the Desert) as well as Dee Roscioli (Wicked) and Rebecca Naomi Jones (American Idiot; Passing Strange).

Old Hickory certainly left his mark in the history books. It's no secret that Andrew Jackson, seventh president of the United States, was one of America's most polarizing figures. Acting under what he declared were the choices and movements of the people, he initiated ethnic cleansing in the United States through the forced relocation of Native American tribes from the Southeast to the west of the Mississippi River. He became Father of the Democratic Party and defeated the British at the notorious Battle of New Orleans.

The New Group has announced complete casting for Francine Volpe's suspenseful drama The Good Mother. Darren Goldstein, Alfredo Narciso, Eric Nelsen and Bill Sage join Gretchen Mol (previously announced) in this world premiere directed by Scott Elliott. Previews for the play, which launches The New Group's 2012-13 season, begin October 29 in advance of an Official Opening Night on Thursday, November 15. A limited Off-Broadway engagement is slated through December 22 at The New Group @ Theatre Row (The Acorn Theatre / 410 West 42nd Street / Acorn Theatre).

New Line Theatre Names Amanda Leigh Jerry as 2012 Scholarship Recipient

New Line Theatre, soon to start its 22nd season of alternative musical theatre, has awarded its 2012 musical theatre scholarship in the amount of $1,500 to Amanda Leigh Jerry of Nerinx Hall High School, who plans to major in musical theatre at Carnegie Mellon University. Judith Newmark, theatre critic for the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, selects the winner of the scholarship each year, which is funded through the donations of New Line supporters.
