Roundabout Underground Announces USUAL GIRLS As First Play Of 2018/19 Season

Roundabout Theatre Company (Todd Haimes, Artistic Director/CEO) is pleased to announce the first new play of Roundabout Underground's 2018 - 2019 season. The World premiere of Usual Girls, by Ming Peiffer, directed by Tyne Rafaeli was part of the 2017 Roundabout Underground Reading Series and will begin performances in the 2018/19 season.

Nominations Announced for the 2018 Helen Hayes Awards; MEAN GIRLS, FUN HOME, and More!

The nominees for the 2018 Helen Hayes Awards were announced on February 5, 2018. One of the country's most prestigious cultural honors, The Helen Hayes Awards recognizes and celebrates excellence in professional theatre throughout the Washington metropolitan area. The National Theatre's Helen Hayes Gallery set the scene for the announcement of nominees in 47 categories for artistic excellence, and the theatre companies eligible for the 2017 John Aniello Award for Outstanding Emerging Theatre Company. The recipient of the 2018 Helen Hayes Tribute will be announced shortly.

Theatrical Hybrid THE MAGIC PLAY Runs 3/3 - 4/1 at The Armory

Andrew Hinderaker's stunning theatrical hybrid The Magic Play begins preview performances at The Armory on March 3, opens on March 9 and runs through April 1 on the U.S. Bank Main Stage. The Armory's production brings together the artistic team from the celebrated world premiere at Goodman Theatre/Olney Theatre Center, including director Halena Kays; magic creator/actor Brett Schneider; actor Sean Parris; master illusionist Jim Steinmeyer; scenic designer Lizzie Bracken, costume designer Alison Siple; aerial choreographer Sylvia Hernandez-DiStasi; and flying effects by ZFX, Inc. Portland Center State at The Armory's run of The Magic Play is a co-production with Actors Theatre of Louisville and Syracuse Stage.

Southern Rep Theatre Calls for Applications for 4D Program

On the heels of a successful inaugural year, Southern Rep's signature New Play Development program 4D will begin its second season in March 2018. Applications are now being accepted from local dramatists, directors, and dramaturgs interested in joining this year-long intensive program; the application period closes February 16, 2018.

Spectacle Meets Sleight of Hand in THE MAGIC PLAY at Actors Theatre

Artistic Director Les Waters and Managing Director Kevin E. Moore announce the cast and creative team for The Magic Play. Featuring magic created by Brett Schneider, The Magic Play by Andrew Hinderaker will be directed by Halena Kays. Performances begin January 23 and run through February 11 in the Pamela Brown Auditorium, as part of the Brown-Forman Series. New Works by Calamity West, Daniel Zaitchik and More Set for Roundabout Underground Reading Series

Roundabout Theatre Company has announced the seventh annual Roundabout Underground Reading Series, a five-night event that includes nightly readings of new works written and directed by emerging artists, as well as post-show receptions. The Reading Series will feature new works by Selina Fillinger, Harrison David Rivers, Korde Arrington Tuttle, Calamity West and Daniel Zaitchik.

Roundabout Underground's TOO HEAVY FOR YOUR POCKET Enters Final Fortnight

A friendly reminder that Roundabout Theatre Company will conclude its critically acclaimed New York premiere of Too Heavy for Your Pocket by Jir h Breon Holder, directed by Margot Bordelon, after extending its initial limited run. The extension week will include three special performances reserved for NYC public school students from schools affiliated with Roundabout's expansive education program.

The Future Is Now! Meet the Full Company of TIME AND THE CONWAYS, Opening Tonight on Broadway

Roundabout Theatre Company presents the new Broadway production of J. B. Priestley's Time and the Conways, directed by Tony winner Rebecca Taichman (Indecent). The play returns to Broadway for the first time since its premiere in 1938 and opens officially tonight, October 10, 2017. This is a limited engagement through November 26, 2017 at the American Airlines Theatre on Broadway (227 West 42nd Street).
