Lincoln Center Education, the education cornerstone of Lincoln Center and a global leader in arts education and advocacy, announced updates to the Next Stage event on May 30, 2014 focused on music, and in partnership with the New York Philharmonic. Violinist Midori, originally announced as moderator, with regret has withdrawn to attend to a minor but time sensitive health issue. Her replacement as moderator will be Dr. Aaron A. Flagg, Professor of Music, Dean of the Hartt School and Senior Advisor to the President on External Relations at the University of Hartford. Joining Dr. Flagg will be three panelists: Sarah Johnson (Director, Weill Music Institute at Carnegie Hall), Angelica Negron (composer and New York Philharmonic Teaching Artist), and Paola Prestini (composer and Creative Director of Original Music Workshop).

Lincoln Center Education, the education cornerstone of Lincoln Center and a global leader in arts education and advocacy, launches Next Stage, a new candid discussion series with high-profile artists exploring the role of arts education in their creative and commercial work. The new series, launching this year and continuing on an annual basis, is aimed at early- to mid-career artists in the fields of theater, dance, music and visual arts. The high-profile artists selected to moderate and speak at the events will represent a range of ages and experience levels within their artistic disciplines, focusing on the intersection of an artist's academic and artistic pursuits and how they go hand in hand, creatively, financially and otherwise. Events of the Next Stage discussion will be hosted and presented by Lincoln Center Education, in partnership with other leading New York City arts organizations.

Legged Dogand Untitled Theater Company #61 are pleased to announce the return of THE PIG, OR VÁCLAV HAVEL'S HUNT FOR THE PIG, written by Vaclav Havel and Vladimir Moravek, adapted into English by Edward Einhorn. Directed by Henry Akona and featuring music from The Bartered Bride by Bed?ich Smetana (with musical arrangements by Mr. Akona), THE PIG, OR VÁCLAV HAVEL'S HUNT FOR THE PIG begins performances on Thursday, March 6 for a limited engagement through Sunday, March 29. Opening Night is Monday, March 10 at 8 PM. The performance schedule is Thursday - Saturday at 8:00 PM; Sunday at 7:00 PM, with an added performance on Monday March 10 at 8 PM. Performances are at 3LD Art and Technology Center (80 Greenwich Street, at Rector, in downtown Manhattan). Tickets are $45, which includes dinner from Korzo; or $20 (without food). Stage & Screen, a collaboration between Coolidge Corner Theatre and Huntington Theatre Company that explores the depictions of shared themes in Huntington productions and acclaimed films continues its second season of collaboration on Monday, January 6 at 7pm with Secretary starring Maggie Gyllenhaal and James Spader. The screening will be followed by a conversation moderated by Boston Globe columnist Meredith Goldstein with Venus in Fur director Daniel Goldstein and actors Andrea Syglowski and Chris Kipiniak.
