The Second City e.t.c. has announced the opening of The Second City e.t.c.'s 38th Revue, 'Apes of Wrath.' Performances play The Second City e.t.c. Theatre (2nd Floor of Piper's Alley, 230 W North Ave). A Grand Opening is scheduled for tonight, June 26, 2014 at 8:00 p.m.

SMOKEFALL, TWO TRAINS RUNNING and More Set for Goodman Theatre's 2014-15 Season

Chicago's most established resident theater presents a 90th anniversary "season to celebrate," a line-up of new and contemporary works on its two stages-the 856-seat Albert Theatre and 400-seat flexible Owen Theatre. Today, Artistic Director Robert Falls and Executive Director Roche Schulfer announced six plays (of eight)-half of which were developed by commission and/or workshop in the Goodman's new play development programs-that comprise the 2014/2015 Season, plus co-productions with Chicago's off-Loop theaters. Remarked Falls, "We are proud to present this Season in the same spirit that launched the Goodman in 1925: 'an array of dramatic fare, from classics to noteworthy contemporary works, innovative and oft controversial, embracing genres from farces to searing social dramas.' We hope to give our audiences compelling, relevant experiences from a range of culturally and aesthetically diverse artists, from bold new talents to acclaimed local and national voices." The Second City's Rock City Camp Now Accepting Applications

The Second City Training Center and School of Rock Chicago team up to introduce Rock City Camp: An Opera of Rock, a stage-writing performance camp for teens aged 14-19, beginning July 7. Over two weeks, musical all-stars with multiple performance skills in music and theater, will create an original storyline, learn rock music and develop original music to produce a never-before-seen show. Rock City Camp will take place July 7 - 18 at Athenaeum Theatre, 2936 N. Southport Ave. Sessions are Monday through Friday, 11 a.m.-5 p.m. For consideration, please fill out an application HERE before the March 31 deadline. $1200. Needs-based scholarships are available.

Registration for Second City's New ASD Classes Now Open

The Second City Training Center is proud to launch its Improv for ASD curriculum, offering both teens and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorders a unique 12-week mentoring and development experience that includes improv games and exercises to help with the exploration of relationships and social cues. Registration is open now for Friday classes starting March 7. Classes are 12 weeks for 90 minutes per week. Teens, aged 15-18, meet Friday afternoons, 5:00 - 6:30 p.m.; Adult classes for ages 19+ take place Friday evenings, 7:00 - 8:30 p.m.
