Winners of 2018 American Cheese Society's Judging & Competition Announced

'Harbison' from Cellars at Jasper Hill in Vermont was named 'Best of Show' among 1,954 entries at the American Cheese Society's (ACS) 2018 Judging & Competition. The results were announced at a ceremony today at the 35th Annual ACS Conference: 'Forged in Cheese', at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center, Pittsburgh. Second place 'Best of Show' went to 'Calderwood', also from Cellars at Jasper Hill. Third place 'Best of Show' was awarded to 'Avonlea Clothbound Cheddar' from COWS Creamery in Prince Edward Island, Canada.

Michigan Opera Theatre Announces Andrea Scobie And Arthur White As New Directors

Michigan Opera Theatre (MOT) has added two directors to its leadership team. MOT appointed Andrea Scobie to Director of Education and Arthur White to Director of External Affairs. Both newly-created positions aim to enhance MOT's community presence and offerings.

Houston Grand Opera announced today that it has commissioned its newest Song of Houston project, an extended song cycle in celebration of the eightieth anniversary of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. Andrea White - noted author and wife of the former Mayor of Houston, the Honorable Bill White- has been invited to create the texts that will be set to music by selected students from the University of Houston Moores School of Music.
