The Muny's first rainout of its historical centennial season took place during the Saturday, July 14 performance of the world regional premiere of Jersey Boys. While Mother Nature had plans of her own, that did not stop Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons from treating Muny-goers to a special accapella rendition of the chart-topping hit "Sherry." Abingdon Theatre Company (Tony Speciale, Artistic Director; Denise Dickens, Producing Director) presents the final main stage production of its 25th Anniversary season, Fruit Trilogy, a new trilogy of plays by Tony Award winner Eve Ensler (The Vagina Monologues, In the Body of the World) and directed by Mark Rosenblatt (world premiere of Fruit Trilogy at West Yorkshire Playhouse, UK; Animal Wisdom, Bushwick Starr). Featuring Kiersey Clemons (Dope, The Only Boy Living In New York, 'Transparent') and Liz Mikel (Lysistrata Jones, NBC's 'Friday Night Lights'), the New York premiere production launches a limited engagement Saturday June 2 at 8PM at the historic Lucille Lortel Theatre Theatre (121 Christopher Street, NYC) in Greenwich Village and runs through June 23. The official opening night is June 7 at 7PM. Performances are Tuesday - Thursday at 7PM, Friday and Saturday at 8PM, with matinees on Saturday at 3PM and Sunday at 2PM.

The Muny announced today its full cast and design teams for the world regional premiere of Jersey Boys, July 9 - 16. This will be the first licensed production of Jersey Boys in the world. Jersey Boys is proudly sponsored by BMO Harris Bank.

Goodspeed is assembling a stellar cast for Cyrano an inspired new take on the Edmond Rostand classic Cyrano de Bergerac. Emmy and Golden Globe Award-winning actor Peter Dinklage will develop the title role and film actress Haley Bennett will play Roxanne in this bold new musical. Additional casting will be announced at a later date. This exciting musical is adapted by Erica Schmidt in collaboration with members of the Grammy Award-winning indie alternative band The National. Cyrano will run August 3 - September 2, 2018 at The Terris Theatre in Chester, Conn. This project is supported in part by an award from the National Endowment for the Arts.

The Kennedy Center's production of IN THE HEIGHTS concluded its run yesterday. Anthony Ramos, who originated the roles of John Laurens and Philip Hamilton in the Original Broadway Cast of Hamilton, starred as Usnavi in the Broadway Center Stage production of In the Heights at The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. Presented as a part of the inaugural season of Broadway Center Stage, a Kennedy Center-produced series of musicals in semi-staged concerts, In the Heights ran March 21-25, 2018 in the Eisenhower Theater.

Primary Stages has announced that tickets are on sale today for the final two productions of their 2017/18 season: the World Premiere of A WALK WITH MR. HEIFETZ, written by James Inverne and directed by Andrew Leynse; and FEEDING THE DRAGON, written and performed by Sharon Washington and directed by Maria Mileaf, and presented in a co-production with Hartford Stage.
