FSLC's Film Comment Magazine Announces 2012 'Best of Year' Lists

Film Comment's annual end-of-the-year survey of film critics, journalists, film section editors, and past and present contributors was released today with Leos Carax's HOLY MOTORS, Paul Thomas Anderson's THE MASTER and Wes Andreson's MOONRISE KINGDOM taking the top spots among films released in 2012. Among films that made appearances at film festivals or special screenings worldwide, but haven't been picked up for stateside distribution as of yet, Joachim Lafosse's OUR CHILDREN, Song Fang's MEMORIES LOOK AT ME and Alan Berliner's FIRST COUSIN ONCE REMOVED received the top rankings.
NY Film Critics Circle to Hold Awards Vote to 12/3

The New York Film Critics Circle announced today they will hold their vote for the 2012 Film Critics Circle Awards on Monday, December 3rd. The awards will be handed out during their annual ceremony to be held on Monday, January 7, 2013 at Crimson.

The Film Society of Lincoln Center and the Kazuko Trust announced today that filmmakers Laida Lertxundi and Michael Robinson will be the first two recipients of the Kazuko Trust Scholarship Award Grants to be presented during the 16th edition of NYFF's Views from the Avant-Garde, the popular yearly touchstone for experimental film around the world.

The Film Society of Lincoln Center announced today Ang Lee has been added to the roster of its 2012 NYFF HBO Directors Dialogues participants. FSLC also announced the selections for the 16th edition of NYFF's Views From the Avant-Garde, the popular yearly touchstone for experimental film around the world as well as the presentation of filmmaker awards from the Kazuko Trust for the first time. In addition, NYFF announced the selections for this year's short film programs.

The Film Society of Lincoln Center announced today its 2012 NYFF HBO Films® Directors Dialogues participants would be Abbas Kiarostami, David Chase and Robert Zemeckis and the popular On Cinema conversation will feature two directors - Noah Baumbach and Brian De Palma. FSLC also announced additional titles as part of its Masterworks program, including the Director's Cut of Frank Oz's LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS, restored versions of Michael Cimino's HEAVEN'S GATE, Laurence Olivier's RICHARD III and Peter Whitehead's THE ROLLING STONES - CHARLING IS MY DARLING - IRELAND 1965, as well as two special sidebar presentations as part of the festival's 50th Anniversary celebration.
