Amy Owens has an extensive career in the Classical World. Having performed on various stages across the country, such as Wolf Trap to Carnegie Hall, Owens has dazzled time and time again. In February, she released her jazz-pop single 'Discreet' and now returns with a new collaborative piece featuring renown violinist and recipient of the 2018 Leonard Bernstein Award, Charles Yang.
The winners of the 48th annual George London Foundation Awards Competition for young American and Canadian opera singers were announced at the conclusion of the competition's final round this evening, which took place before an enthusiastic audience at Gilder Lehrman Hall at The Morgan Library & Museum in New York City.
Two American opera singers noted for their theatricality – one on the rise, the other an international star – headline the second George London Foundation recital of the season. Anthony Dean Griffey, the renowned tenor whose searing interpretation of the title role of Britten's Peter Grimes, among others, has brought him worldwide acclaim, and Amy Owens, a “scene-stealing” (Broadway World) “radiant soprano” (Opera News) who won an award at the 2018 George London Awards competition, perform the second George London Foundation Recital of the season at The Morgan Library and Museum on Sunday, March 24, 2019, at 4:00 pm. They are joined by Warren Jones at the piano, and guest artists David Heiss, cello, and Cindy Wu, violin.

Music Director Thierry Fischer and President & CEO Paul Meecham today announced the Utah Symphony's 2019-20 season, sponsored by the George S. and Dolores Dor Eccles Foundation, with highlights including multi-media concert experiences featuring the twelve movements from Olivier Messiaen's Des canyons aux toiles ( From the canyons to the stars ), a celebration of Beethoven's 250th birthday in 2020 and a gala concert featuring violin virtuoso Joshua Bell to celebrate the 80th Anniversary of the Utah Symphony's first-ever performance, which took place on May 8, 1940. American composer Andrew Norman returns to present three of his orchestral works and work with young musicians in Utah for his second year as Composer-in-Association, and during fall 2020, the Utah Symphony pays tribute to Hispanic Heritage with Disney's Coco in concert and several programs featuring music by Latin-American composers led by Carlos Miguel Prieto. Amy Owens has always been a believer in the power of collaboration and blurring the lines between musical genres. Owens brings rebellious fun to a traditionally strict musical world with the release of of the musical project HAETHOR, set for release March 15th. The album is a collaborative venture with producer and composer Howard Wulkan of Farmadelica Sounds. The album includes a blend of different genres, from pop to jazz, all guided by Amy Owens' crystal clear vocals.
