When Phoebe Waller-Bridge is galvanised by a new voice, expectations are likely to be high. The actor / writer enjoyed great success with her own one woman show Fleabag, which ran at Soho Theatre. As a judge for the 2020 Verity Bargate Award, Waller-Bridge and others, including Russell T Davies, deemed Amanda Wilkin’s monologue Shedding a Skin the winner. Now playing to standing ovations in that same venue, it isn’t hard to see why.

With limited tickets now available for the run and a definite buzz in the air as Amanda Wilkin's Verity Bargate Award-winning play Shedding A Skin prepares for first previews this week, Soho Theatre are celebrating the return of theatre with a sneak peek into its live theatre and comedy programme this autumn, including three more Soho co-productions of new plays and an international live comedy lineup.

Soho Theatre will celebrate the relaunch of its theatre programme this summer with a new play. Shedding A Skin, written by Amanda Wilkin, the 2020 winner of the Verity Bargate Award, will introduce audiences to a fresh and fierce new voice.

The final play in the series will be announced shortly.

45North and Ellie Keel Productions today announce Olivia Williams in Rafaella Marcus' The You Play Volume Two: The Haunted Woman, her second play in the audio project Written on the Waves. Directed by Jessica Lazar, it follows the previous collaboration on Marcus' debut The You Play: small acts, and will be available from 14 December 2020.

Morgan Lloyd Malcolm penned the now three-time Olivier Award-winning play, Emilia, which tells her story. It premiered at Shakespeare’s Globe in 2018 under the direction of Nicole Charles. The production then transferred to the West End and played the Vaudeville Theatre in 2019. An archive recording of the West End run is currently available to stream on a pay-what-you-can basis until 24 November.

The National Theatre of Scotland is set to continue its new work over the coming months, with an innovative mix of streamed theatre and digital projects, including two new productions from leading Scottish creatives Hannah Lavery and Adura Onashile, both addressing urgent contemporary and historical issues around race in Scotland today.
