Singing actress and storyteller Deborah Stone has a brand-new show opening this month at Pangea, and Broadway World Cabaret has Deborah for a few minutes of conversation.

Judy Garland is hailed as the Greatest Entertainer of all time. Broadway World Cabaret looks at ten videos that show why she was, and ten videos that show the effect she has had on other singers.

Rubicon Theatre Company, Ventura’s non-profit professional theatre company, will continue the company’s 2022-2023 Season with the World Premiere of LONESOME TRAVELER: GENERATIONS, conceived by George Grove and James O’Neil, with musical direction by Rick Dougherty and George Grove and direction by Rubicon Co-Founder James O’Neil.

Vocalist Linda Kahn returns with her solo cabaret debut show, Say Yes! on Wednesday, May 25 at 7 PM at the Laurie Beechman Theatre. She will be accompanied by Music Director Christopher Denny on piano and Jay Leonhart on bass. Jeff Harnar directs.

Award winning and rave reviewed singer/director Lina Koutrakos will be in Chicago to head up a group teaching/workshop weekend, 'The Midwest Cabaret Conference,' which has been running for the last 10 years, this June.  

Birdland presented singer/songwriter Amanda McBroom in “Crimes of the Heart” on Monday, May 2. Ms. McBroom is perhaps best known for her song, “The Rose,” which was famously recorded by Bette Midler for the film of the same name.  But until this concert, McBroom and Midler hadn’t met, even though the extraordinary composition helped change both careers.

BIRDLAND JAZZ CLUB will present Nashville vocalist Wendy Moten – best known for her 2021 run on NBC’s “The Voice” – in a special concert on Monday, May 16 at 7:00 PM. Her show will include songwriter Richard Whiting hits including “He’s Funny That Way,” “My Ideal,” “Miss Brown,” and “Too Marvelous For Words.”

BIRDLAND JAZZ CLUB will present acclaimed vocalist Karen Akers in the new show “Water Under the Bridge” on Monday, April 25 at 7:00 PM.
