In celebration of the Company's 40th Season, Shakespeare & Company presents a special August event series, Storytellers and Songwriters. 

Shakespeare & Company presents William Shakespeare's The Tempest in the Company's new outdoor theatre.

Shakespeare & Company adds two more performances to its Intimate Apparel run. Written by two-time Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Lynn Nottage and directed by long-time Company member Daniela Varon, the performances have been selling out.

In celebration of the Company's 40th Season, Shakespeare & Company presents a special August event series, Storytellers and Songwriters. 

Written by two-time Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Lynn Nottage and directed by long-time company member Daniela Varon this winner of the 2004 Steinberg New Play Award, New York Drama Critics' Circle Award, and Outer Critics Circle Award runs in the Elayne P. Bernstein Theatre fromJuly 20 through August 13, 2017.

Senator Elizabeth Warren and the rest of the Opening NIght Audience at Shakespeare & Co's production of Cymbeline didn't have to fill the suggestion box labeled 'Tell Us Why You LIke Shakespeare'  in the lobby of the Tina Packer Playhouse with answers to that question.  They did it with their many standing ovations for the 9 actors and director Tina Packer at the conclusion of a magnificent and energetic performance of the complex plot driven play by Shakespeare.   There are a lot of exciting things going on at Shakespeare & Co. in Lenox MA. and artistic director Allyn Burrows in his toast at the jubilant after party stated 'first to the unknown and to the road ahead'!

Shakespeare & Company celebrates their 40th Anniversary Season today, July 1st at the 40th Season Ruby Gala. The event will honor the Company's 40-year tradition of bringing world class theatrical productions to Berkshire audiences, while eagerly anticipating future seasons with Artistic Director Allyn Burrows and Managing Director Adam Davis.

Shakespeare & Company will host a Fourth of July Community Celebration: "We Hold These Truths" on their property at 70 Kemble Street, Lenox MA. This annual event is an all-American Independence Day celebration with music, food, children's crafts and activities, and a public reading of one of the most stirring, and influential documents in our country's history, The Declaration of Independence.

Annette Miller gives an incredible performance as the widowed nonagenarian Vera Joseph who is visited by her 21-year-old, untethered grandson Leo in her West Village apartment. These two outsiders engage in a series of battles, only to discover how much they have in common. Under the direction of Nicole Ricciardi, 4000 MILES is a delight from coast to coast.

Shakespeare & Company's newly appointed Artistic Director Allyn Burrows announced the famed (and largest) Shakespeare Festivals in the country lineup for the 2017 Berkshire summer season at at a press event at Chez Josephine  in New York City and BroadwayWorld was there.  This season includes three Shakespeare plays: Cymbeline, The Tempest, and A Midsummer Night's Dream; plus two Edith Wharton comedies, Roman Fever and the newly adapted The Fullness of Life. Additional titles include the Obie Award winning 4,000 Miles by Amy Herzog; New York Drama Critics Circle and the Outer Critics Circle Recipient, Intimate Apparel by Lynn Nottage; and Tony Award Winner, God of Carnage by Yasmina Reza.

Shakespeare & Company has announced Joan Ackermann: One Playwright, One Weekend with staged play readings Friday, March 17 through Sunday, March 19. 

WAM Theatre's Artistic Director Kristen van Ginhoven announced plans for the company's 2017 season today. The Berkshire-based professional theatre company celebrates its eighth year with two Main Stage productions, a thought-provoking series of play readings, and several exciting new collaborations and initiatives.

After an extensive national search, Shakespeare & Company announced today that Adam Davis, long-time Managing Director of the Los Angeles County Arts Commission and former Company Manager of the La Jolla Playhouse, has been named as the Company's new Managing Director.
