CRITICS' CHOICE AWARDS to Return to The CW for 2019 Show

The Broadcast Film Critics Association (BFCA) and the Broadcast Television Journalists Association (BTJA) are pleased to announce that the 24th annual Critics' Choice Awards will air LIVE on The CW Network on Sunday, January 13, 2019 (7:00-10:00p.m. Live ET/ Delayed PT). The show will continue its combined Film and Television awards format, honoring the finest in both cinematic and televised/streaming achievement, and take place once again at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica.

Breakout star Elsie Fisher joins the voice case of The Addams Family, in her first role since her critically acclaimed performance in Eighth Grade, according to The Hollywood Reporter.  Fisher will voice Parker Needler, the daughter of Margaux Needler, the Addams Family nemesis.

Before I, Tonya and even before “the incident,” there was Sharp Edges - the documentary made thirty-two years ago by Yale University student Sandra Luckow as part of her senior thesis. Following its successful theatrical run and awards campaign with I, Tonya, NEON has acquired worldwide rights to the documentary and will distribute it in theaters for one week beginning on July 6th.

According to Deadline, Allison Janney is in talks to join Hugh Jackman in Automatik's Bad Education, a feature based on a true story from I Think We're Alone Now screenwriter Mike Makowsky and director Cory Finley (Thoroughbreds). The story, which is based on Makowsky's own high school experience, follows Frank Tassone, a superintendent of the school district who works for the betterment of the student's education while embezzling public funds to live the life he wants.

ABC presents a two-hour television special that features an emotional interview with figure skater Tonya Harding, who opens up about her life now, her childhood and her past, discussing the attack on figure skater Nancy Kerrigan that dominated headlines for weeks and the alleged tumultuous relationships she had with both her mother, LaVona “Sandy” Golden, and her now ex-husband, Jeff Gillooly. The special features rarely seen video of Harding as a child and interviews with television news anchor Connie Chung whose interview with Harding during the 1994 Olympics was cut short when she walked out; Christine Brennan, USA Today sports columnist and ABC commentator; Dody Teachman, Harding's former and current coach; Norman Frink, the former district attorney who prosecuted Harding and Gillooly; Matt Harkins and Viviana Olen, curators of THNK1994, the Tonya Harding and Nancy Kerrigan museum; Sandra Luckow, director of “Hard Edges,” the 1986 documentary on Harding; People magazine's Kate Coyne; sports broadcaster Ann Schatz; and “I, Tonya” Golden Globe®-nominated actors Margot Robbie who plays Harding and Allison Janney as Golden, as well as Sebastian Stan as Gillooly. “Truth and Lies: The Tonya Harding Story” airs Saturday, June 16 (9:00–11:00 p.m. EDT), on ABC. According to Deadline, MGM has set the voice cast for its Oct. 11, 2019 animated take on The Addams Family including Oscar winners Charlize Theron (Morticia),  Allison Janney (arch nemesis Margaux Needler), two-time Oscar nominee Bette Midler(Grandmama), Chloë Grace Moretz (Wednesday), Finn Wolfhard (Pugsley), and Nick Kroll (Uncle Fester).
