The annual League Awards were held during The Broadway League’s 2026 Spring Road Conference as esteemed members and partners were honored for their achievements in support of Touring Broadway.
HADESTOWN will always have a special place in the heart of Ohio Theatre patrons. On Nov. 16, 2021, the musical was the first production in the historic theatre after the COVID epidemic dimmed the lights there for nearly a year and a half. The theatre staff laid roses on every seat to signal Broadway had returned to its stage.
Walton Arts Center, 495 W Dickson St, in Fayetteville, brought the excitement again, this time with BEETLEJUICE THE MUSICAL, which ran from October 22-27. I would say his name three times just to see the show again! Directed by Alex Timbers, the thrilling blend of dark humor, incredible music and spooky charm had us smiling through the whole production! We loved it!

If you were lucky enough to see Celebrity Attraction’s national tour of Pretty Woman the Musical at Robinson Center, 426 West Markham St., in Little Rock, AR April 26-28, you are probably still dancing and humming like me.
It is mere coincidence that Anaïs Mitchell’s remarkable, Tony Award-winning Hadestown, now being given a solid production at the Kennedy Center’s Opera House, debuted on Broadway just before our twenty-month plague began, but it fits. Mitchell’s story is at bottom a moral call to arms, which cleverly mines the saddest tale in all of mythology and marries it to a still older myth – one which was designed to explain the seasons.
