The Segal Centre for Performing Arts announced today a stellar lineup of programming for its 2017-2018 Season. In this year of celebration across Canada, and here at home with Montreal's 375th anniversary, the Segal is also observing important milestones of its own.

Layon Gray's Off-Broadway hit stage play Kings Of Harlem will play a limited engagement January 5th through January 29 2017 at the Sandrell Rivers Theater. Opening night is set for October 5TH, which will include a cast reception and party.

Set in 1948 Vancouver, this ground-breaking work intertwines theatre, visual art and film and mixed-media, to create a production at the frontier of new media use in performance.

Helen Lawrence, a highly anticipated new Canadian production at the frontier of new media use in performance art, marked its world premiere on March 19 in Vancouver before launching an international tour. The mixed-media project, produced by Canadian Stage with co-producers Arts Club Theatre Company (Vancouver) and The Banff Centre (Alberta), will travel across Canada and Europe in 2014 with stops in Montreal, Munich, Edinburgh and Toronto.

The cast of Broadway's Golden Oldie's musical, BABY IT'S YOU!, will perform at a fundraising event benefitting Passaic High School on Sunday August 7, at 7:30pm. Florence Greenberg's daughter, Mary Jane, first saw the four singers that her mother would make into the Shirelles at a talent show in the auditorium of Passaic High School, and in honor of that historic event the BABY IT'S YOU! cast will be performing numbers from the Broadway musical that chronicles the meteoric rise of the legendary girl group. The benefit will take place in the newly refurbished auditorium of Passaic High School (170 Paulison Avenue, Passaic, NJ) and will also feature a performance by the Passaic High School Band and a special Q&A with the cast of BABY IT'S YOU!. Tickets are $20 at the door and 100% of the proceeds will benefit a performing arts scholarship fund for a deserving Passaic High School Student.
