The Mint Theater company will be presenting the American Premiere of Noel Coward's The Rap Trap, and the world premiere of Becomes a Woman by Betty Smith (A Tree Grows in Brooklyn).

 The Obie Award-winning HERE announced that due to a positive COVID test within the company, all performances of Marie It’s Time have been cancelled through Saturday September 17, 2022. Performances will resume Wednesday September 21.

La MaMa ETC’s 61st season will feature world-premieres by John Kelly, Erik Ehn, Elizabeth Swados, Witness Relocation/Dan Safer, Bobbie Jene Smith and Ping Chong, along with the live, in-person stage debut of Split Britches’s 2021 digital production LAST GASP and the first-ever revival of Maria Irene Fornes’ EVELYN BROWN.

Each player has moments of strength, weakness, anguish, despair, all presented well individually. I did not, however, feel as if I were watching a cohesive unit, in their element, weaving a tapestry as their lives intertwine. More that of a group of individuals well skilled at delivering Shakespearian dialogue, than a collective ensemble.

The Obie Award-winning HERE will present Marie It’s Time. Created and Produced by Minor Theater, the company that brought you Julia Jarcho’s Obie Award-winning Grimly Handsome, Marie It’s Time is written by Jarcho, who also performs in her work for the first time.

This includes King Lear featuring Christopher Lloyd, BECOMING OTHELLO: A Black Girl’s Journey, Art, and a workshop version of Measure For Measure.

Shakespeare & Company will launch its 2021 season with a production of Shakespeare's King Lear, featuring acclaimed actor and three-time Emmy winner Christopher Lloyd. Directed by Nicole Ricciardi, King Lear will run July 2 through August 29.

Shakespeare & Company is excited to announce its 2020 summer season, May 21 - October 18, 2020. Under the theme 'The Labyrinth of Love' the season includes Shakespeare titles: King Lear, Much Ado About Nothing, The Comedy of Errors, and, in a special workshop production, Measure for Measure. The contemporary plays this season are The Lifespan of a Fact by Jeremy Kareken, David Murrell, and Gordon Farrell; What Rhymes With America, by the Obie Award-winning playwright Melissa James Gibson; Row After Row by Jessica Dickey; Susan Smith Blackburn Award and Obie Award winner My Left Breast by Susan Miller; and Laurence Olivier Award winner Betrayal by Harold Pinter.

HIR is anything but traditional. Playwright Taylor Mac has termed his work 'absurd realism' wherein 'the absurdity comes from a heightened but realistic point of view'. Those bold, brave, and open enough to sit in the discomfort that may come with looking at things from diverse points of view will be rewarded with a rich, and very real perspective on the world in which we live.

Shakespeare & Company presents Obie Award-winning playwright Taylor Mac's dark comedy HIR, directed by Alice Reagan, and featuring long-time Company veterans John Hadden and Elizabeth Aspenlieder. Performances run in the Elayne P. Bernstein Theatre September 13 - October 7.
