Queer|Art, NYC's hub for connecting and empowering generations of LGBTQ+ artists, has announced the 2023 edition of Queer|Art|Pride—the 7th annual summer festival celebrating work by the organization's vibrant community of more than 200 LGBTQ+ artists.

On Thursday, November 10th, a radiant crowd of LGBTQ+ artists and allies convened in-person at The Whitney Museum of American Art for Queer|Art's biggest event of the year: The 2022 Queer|Art Annual Party.

Queer|Art, New York City's home for the creative and professional development of LGBTQ+ artists, has announced the winners of two of its biggest annual awards. Writer, educator, and activist Alexis De Veaux is the winner of the 2022 Pamela Sneed Award for Black Queer|Art|Mentorship Artists and Organizers.

The Mentorship program is the cornerstone of Queer|Art’s work, providing a platform of support for LGBTQ+ artists focused on creative issues and long-term sustainability of artistic practice.

For the past 16 years, The Bronx Academy of Arts and Dance has marked pride month by presenting the Bronx's only consistent gay pride celebration - The OUT LIKE THAT! Signature Theatre Company continues its celebration of the Negro Ensemble Company (NEC) with special presentations of three more plays from the historic NEC repertoire. Curated by NEC Founder Douglas Turner Ward, Signature Associate Artist Ruben Santiago-Hudson and the Signature Theatre Company staff, these plays will be read on stage at the Peter Norton Space (555 West 42nd Street) on select evenings throughout the season. These classic works give greater insight into the history of this vital and groundbreaking company.
