Peter London Global Dance Company Celebrates 10th Year Anniversary

Miami's leading multicultural, contemporary dance ensemble, the Peter London Global Dance Company celebrates its 10th anniversary with the virtual world premiere of WOMEN-ROSES-WATER, a contemporary and Afro-Caribbean dance fusion, with commissioned new music by The Ballet and Dance Orchestra, conducted by Ezra Haugabrooks, and featuring the artwork of visual artist Michael Elliott, commissioned to create five paintings for digital projection.

BWW Review: ROYAL BALLET LIVE: WITHIN THE GOLDEN HOUR, Royal Opera House

This latest gala from the Royal Ballet had been planned to be performed in front of a live and appreciative audience, drinking in their first in-person, post lockdown performance. Alas, the stars did not align, but the tenacity of the Opera house team means this “all guns blazing” display is still a joy to watch online.

Royal Ballet Returns With BACK ON STAGE

The Royal Ballet is Back on Stage and returns for a special live-streamed celebration performance on Friday 9 October at 7.30pm BST.

BWW Review: DANCES AT A GATHERING / THE CELLIST, ROH Live

Covent Garden's Royal Opera House continues its successful series of live screenings to over 1000 cinemas across the world. Dances at a Gathering / The Cellist is a chance to see two incredibly different ballets in one evening; both beautifully moving in their own ways.

BWW Review: THE CELLIST / DANCES AT A GATHERING, Royal Opera House

The first mixed programme of 2020 from the Royal Ballet sees Cathy Marston's much anticipated and arguably long overdue first work for the main stage at Covent Garden. Renowned for her lucid and atmospheric storytelling, most recently in The Suit (Ballet Black) and Victoria (Northern Ballet), she now turns her attention to an unconventional but heartfelt love story.

BWW Review: COPPELIA, Royal Opera House

There's a lot riding on this revival of Ninette de Valois' production of Coppélia. Not only is it being performed by an (almost) entirely new crop of dancers since it was last seen here in 2006, it replaces Sir Peter Wright's long loved production of Nutcracker as this year's festive treat.

BroadwayHD Announces November Lineup Including PUTTING IT TOGETHER Starring Carol Burnett, NUNSENSE, and More!

BroadwayHD is heading into November with a stellar lineup, lead by knock-out performances of theater classics. The all-female production of Donmar Warehouse's Julius Caesar makes its way to the platform on November 7, giving subscribers a stunning twist on a classic play. Dan Goggin's internationally acclaimed musical anthology series, Nunsense and its 6 sequels will be making its exclusive digital streaming premiere on BroadwayHD beginning November 14. Just in time for the 20th Anniversary of its debut on Broadway, Putting It Together starring Tony and Emmy Award winners Carol Burnett and George Hearn as well as Emmy Award nominee Bronson Pinchot brings a heavy dose of humor to the library on November 21. In addition to all of this, the holidays arrive early when beautiful productions of A Christmas Carol, MeshugaNutcracker! and The Royal Ballet's The Nutcracker debut on BroadwayHD on November 26.

BWW Review: THE FIREBIRD/A MONTH IN THE COUNTRY/SYMPHONY IN C at Royal Opera House

A mixed bill of true contrasts is served up by the Royal Ballet for the last run of performances of the 18/19 season. From the tempestuous Firebird set to Igor Stravinsky's seminal score, Ashton's quaint and quietly heartbreaking A Month in the Country, to the bold and technically exposing masterclass of Balanchine's Symphony in C.

BWW Review: THE CUNNING LITTLE VIXEN/THE TWO PIGEONS, Royal Opera House

In a rare piece of programming from the Royal Opera House, audiences have the opportunity, for a limited run, to watch the Royal Ballet School's talent of tomorrow and the main company's talent of today together in a mixed programme of animal-based stories. It features new work from Artist in Residence Liam Scarlett and Frederick Ashton's popular Two Pigeons, seen previously this year alongside Scarlett's Asphodel Meadows. The former First Artist certainly seems to be making his mark on the company repertoire.

BWW Review: MAYERLING, Royal Opera House

t's never easy to debut in a role when half the audience bought tickets to see someone else, but this was the situation Ryoichi Hirano faced last week as announcement of Edward Watson's injury was made. Watson is known for his compelling portrayal of the multifaceted role of Crown Prince Rudolf of Austria (1858-1889). Nonetheless Hirano makes a honourable go of the challenge, assisted ably by a stellar female lineup in MacMillan's now 40 year old ballet.

BWW Review: GISELLE, Royal Opera House

Marianela Nu ez celebrates her 20th year with the Royal Ballet this year. For a prima ballerina you may believe her peak years of performing are behind her. However, nothing could be further from the truth in this divine production of Sir Peter Wright's mystical Giselle, in which a stellar cast bring their superior storytelling skills to this signature work in the company's repertoire.
