BAD JEWS is the best comedy of the season and now it's extended! Roundabout Theatre Company's production of Joshua Harmon's play opened to widespread critical acclaim off-Broadway and the limited engagement will play an extra week through Sunday, December 22, 2013.

A new edition of the award-winning MetroFocus premieres in the New York metro area tonight, October 9 at 7:30 p.m. on WLIW21 and Thursday, October 10 at 8:30 p.m. on THIRTEEN and at 10:30 p.m. on NJTV.

Fundamental Theater Project will present the upcoming staged reading of Supersoldier, a new rock musical with book, music and lyrics by Hair co-creator, Jim Rado. The reading is presented in collaboration with New York Theatre Barn, and will be directed by NYTB Artistic Director, Joe Barros. Ted Rado also serves as Co-Book Writer on the piece, and Steve Margoshes and Marteen Andruet join as Musical Directors.

Music Director Alan Gilbert will lead the New York Philharmonic in the New York Premiere of The Marie-Josee Kravis Composer-in-Residence Christopher Rouse's Oboe Concerto, featuring Principal Oboe Liang Wang, and Richard Strauss's Also sprach Zarathustra and Don Juan, both featuring Concertmaster Glenn Dicterow in concertmaster solos. The concerts will take place Thursday, November 14, 2013, at 7:30 p.m.; Friday, November 15 at 2:00 p.m.; Saturday, November 16 at 8:00 p.m.; and Tuesday, November 19 at 7:30 p.m.

The program's soloists will include soprano Miah Persson, mezzo- soprano Stephanie Blythe, tenor Frédéric Antoun in his Philharmonic debut, bass Andrew Foster- Williams, Philharmonic Principal Trumpet Philip Smith, and the New York Choral Artists directed by Joseph Flummerfelt. As directed by Mark Rucker and fueled by a strong performance by Sarah Sokolovic as Stella and a fascinating characterization by Rene Augusen that takes Blanche utra deep, this production ends up being more of a study of the relationship between the sisters.
