The July broadcasts of The New York Philharmonic This Week -- the weekly radio series of concerts and recordings by the New York Philharmonic, hosted by Alec Baldwin -- begin with Bramwell Tovey leading the Orchestra in an all-American program.

The Public Theater announced additional casting today for the free one-night event, PUBLIC FORUM: SHAKESPEARE IN AMERICA, on Monday, June 30 at 8:00 p.m. at the Delacorte Theater in Central Park. Whitney Bashor, Annette Bening, Jessica Chastain, author E.L. Doctorow, Jackie Hoffman, Justin Levine, Equal Justice Initiative founder Bryan Stevenson, and Micah Stock join this exciting evening which will celebrate Shakespeare and the newly released Library of America book, Shakespeare in America, edited by Public Theater Shakespeare Scholar in Residence James Shapiro.

The National High School Musical Theater Awards (NHSMTA) is pleased to announce that 56 high school students from across America will compete for the coveted Jimmy Award for Best Performance by an Actor and Best Performance by an Actress, at the 6th annual presentation at the Minskoff Theatre on Monday, June 30. Ryan McCartan, 2011 Jimmy Award winner, will host the 2-hour talent showcase that features dynamic ensemble and solo performances. McCartan recently starred as JD in the Off-Broadway hit musical, Heathers, appears regularly as Diggy in Liv & Maddie on the Disney Channel, and is a recurring character on the USA Network's Royal Pains. The event will be held at the Minskoff Theatre (200 W. 45th St) and begins at 7:30 pm.

According to a spokesperson, 30 ROCK star Tracy Morgan has left a New Jersey hospital to continue his recovery from a roadway accident that killed his friend and writer 62-year-old James McNair at a rehabilitation facility. It is expected that Morgan will remain at the rehab center for a few weeks.

Wal-Mart truck driver Kevin Roper, who crashed into a limousine van, severely injuring passengers Tracy Morgan and two others and killing 62-year-old James McNair , was traveling at a SPEED of 65 mph in a 45 mph zone.

The Beethoven Piano Concertos: A Philharmonic Festival will continue with Music Director Alan Gilbert conducting Beethoven's Piano Concertos Nos. 2 and 3, featuring The Mary and James G. Wallach Artist-in-Residence Yefim Bronfman as soloist, and the World Premiere-New York Philharmonic Commission of Sean Shepherd's Songs, tonight, June 18, 2014, at 7:30 p.m.; Thursday, June 19 at 7:30 p.m.; Friday, June 20 at 8:00 p.m.; and Saturday, June 21 at 8:00 p.m.

Former 30 Rock star Tracy Morgan, who was was involved in a car crash on June 7th that included two tractor-trailers and an SUV, has now been upgraded to 'fair' condition.

La Jolla Playhouse announces a new production for its 2014/2015 season: The Darrell Hammond Project, written by Saturday Night Live star Darrell Hammond and Elizabeth Stein and directed by Playhouse Artistic Director Christopher Ashley. Performed by Hammond, this world-premiere, one-man show will run February 6 - March 8, 2015 in the Sheila and Hughes Potiker Theatre.
