SHEL: A Historically Fictionalized Musical will be the latest new musical to benefit from Broadway Dreams' New Works Development Project. With a book, music, and lyrics by Noah Kieserman, SHEL will receive workshops this summer at Theatre Calgary in Canada, the Blumenthal Performing Arts Center in Charlotte, NC, and the Herb Alpert Center at Harlem School of the Arts in NYC as part of the non-profit's Summer Performing Arts Intensive Tour, The Hits Reimagined.

Drury Lane Theatre has announced the complete lineup of its 2018/2019 season, opening with Tony Award-winning South Pacific.

I recall with reverence the illustrated cover of the original cast album of MY FAIR LADY by the acclaimed caricaturist, the late Al Hirschfeld (who has a Broadway theater named in his honor). It featured the author of 'Pygmalion' which MY FAIR LADY is based on, George Bernard Shaw, overlooking a cloud in heaven with puppet strings holding up the two lead characters in the show, Henry Higgins and Eliza Doolittle, It's a true classic. So was the original cast which opened on Broadway in 1956 and starred Julie Andrews and Rex Harrison and later became a smash movie with Harrison and Audrey Hepburn in 1964. I recall having a reserved seat ticket for the film.

Broadway Dreams kicked off their #ComeTogether Summer Intensive Tour yesterday at RWS Studios in Long Island City. For one week, 100 students worked with top Broadway professionals, including Jenn Colella, Christopher J. Lifewise Productions has announced that it will stage Mickele Hogan's MOURNING THE LIVING, a new drama directed by Alan Souza about caregivers of those afflicted with Alzheimer's disease, April 7th through April 22nd at the Dorothy Strelsin Theatre at 312 West 36th Street in Manhattan.
