Audrey Babcock and Christopher Burchett to Perform in Concert Reading of LA REINA, 1/17

The French Institute Alliance Française (FIAF) and the Prototype Festival are thrilled to present mezzo-soprano Audrey Babcock and baritone Christopher Burchett in a special concert reading of La Reina, an electro-acoustic opera from composer Jorge Sosa and librettist Laura Sosa Pedroza on Sunday, January 17 at 5pm at FIAF's Florence Gould Hall, 55 East 59th Street, betw. Madison and Park.

Cast Announced for 2016 PROTOTYPE: Opera/Theatre/Now Festival This January

THE HEAD HUNTER to Open on Halloween Off-Broadway

To bring a new life to an undiscovered, underground gem, Termination Productions LLC will present 'The Head Hunter,' a dramatic encounter between a screenwriter and his mobster cousin, Off-Broadway at The Dorothy Streslin Theater October 31 to November 28, 2015. The play is written by Mark Borkowski, a New York-based playwright, screenwriter and actor who is now best known for playing Paul Sagorsky in the third and fourth seasons of HBO's Boardwalk Empire. Richard Gekko directs. It is a revival of a horrific yet hilarious two-hander that Backstage (Elias Stimac) labeled 'one of the best plays of 2000' when it debuted that year and which was showered with glowing web reviews during a modest resurrection in a studio theater last season.

'The Showtune Mosh Pit' for July 8th, 2015

The latest in unauthorized gossip and buzz from the heart of Chicago's showtune video bars, and musical theater news from Chicago to Broadway. 'Beaches,' 'Kinky Boots' and 'Gotta Dance' show how a pre-Broadway tryout is done, while 'Fancy Nancy,' 'The Little Mermaid' and 'Pinocchio' go for a younger demographic. Albany Symphony to Present 'The American Music Festival: Migrations'

The Albany Symphony and Music Director David Alan Miller are proud to announce the fourteenth annual American Music Festival, a celebration of great new music by living American composers. This is the culminating event of the Albany Symphony season, and showcases more than 20 new and recent works, including 18 world premieres. The live music experience will take place from May 14, 2015 to May 16, 2015 at EMPAC, located at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY.

Pianist Inna Faliks to Perform World Premiere of Clarice Assad's Godai; Brahms Sonatas Nos. 2 & 3; at Bargemusic

On Friday, March 20, 2015, 8 pm, BARGEMUSIC presents celebrated Ukrainian-born pianist Inna Faliks in a recital featuring the world premiere of Clarice Assad's Godai, five movements for speaking pianist with poetry by Steven Schroeder, paired with two monumental works by Johannes Brahms, rarely heard together on one program: Piano Sonata No. 2 in F-sharp minor, Op. 2 and Piano Sonata No. 3 in F minor, Op. 5. Also featured on the program is Clara Schumann's Romance, Op. 21/#1, “To my friend Brahms.”
