Music's Biggest Night - the GRAMMYs - is here! Live from STAPLES Center, and hosted by Alicia Keys, the 61st Annual GRAMMY Awards will be broadcast on CBS at 8:00 p.m. ET/5:00 p.m. PT. 

Monday evening, November 12, 2018, 8 p.m., The New York Choral Society and Orchestra (NYCHORAL) will present its first program of the season, MY SHADOW AND MY LIGHT, under the baton of Music Director David Hayes at the Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage at Carnegie Hall. In honor of Veterans Day and in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the end of the First World War and the 80th anniversary of Kristallnacht, Maestro Hayes has chosen a program that explores how three early 20th-century composers, two British and one American, created works expressing their deeply personal reactions to these profound moments in human history.

Highlights this season include world premieres from Steve Reich, Unsuk Chin, Christopher Rouse, and Louis Andriessen, as well as major stage productions from Tod Machover and Meredith Monk.

Musiqa, two-time winner of the Chamber Music America/ASCAP Award for Adventurous Programming, presents Looking Back in Time, the second installment in its 2017-18 Music+ concert series. The ambitious program consists of three major works by members of Musiqa's artistic board: Karim Al-Zand's Visions from Another World, Anthony Brandt's Maternity, and Pierre Jalbert's Transcendental Windows. All three works will be performed by Houston's newest chamber orchestra, Loop38. The program also features a reading by neuroscientist and bestselling author David Eagleman.

Merkin Concert Hall at Kaufman Music Center's famed acoustics will be put to the test when PREformances with Allison Charney fills the celebrated New York City concert hall with the sound of music on October 16 at 1PM.

Members of the NJSO Chamber Players will perform the Aaron Jay Kernis string quartet that the composer later orchestrated as Musica celestis in a special NJSO Accent event with Kernis on Friday, October 13, at 6:45 pm at the Richardson Auditorium in Princeton. The New Jersey Symphony Orchestra's 8 pm concert includes the NJSO premiere of Kernis' ethereal work for string orchestra.

This season ushers in a host of premieres by Boosey & Hawkes composers, including John Adams's new opera Girls of the Golden West in San Francisco, Sebastian Currier's RE-FORMATION in Minneapolis, Christopher Rouse's Berceuse Infinie in Baltimore, and a new orchestral work by Sean Shepherd in Boston.

Join the Ann Arbor Symphony at the Jewish Community Center of Greater Ann Arbor on Monday, May 1 at 1:30 pm. This hour-long concert features the unique four–voice cello choir from the studio of renown U-M cellist, Richard Aaron.
