Albany Symphony proudly presents the American Music Festival taking place June 8-12, 2016. Many of the events will occur in Troy, NY and the festival has been greatly expanded, including outdoor concerts at Troy waterfront locations. Albany Symphony more than any other orchestra in the country is paving the way by wholeheartedly embracing new music and programming 18 world premieres by Clarice Assad, Jessie Montgomery, Loren Loiacono, Sleeping Giant, and many more works for their musicians and Dogs of Desire.

Highlights of this summer's fantastic line-up include Songs of The Rolling Earth, the centerpiece concert featuring Grammy® nominated soprano Talise Trevigne with the orchestra led by Maestro David Alan Miller; Dogs of Desire; Songs of The Earth: Yale Composers' Art Song Program; waterfront farmers' market concerts with Clarice Assad and TIGUE; piano duos with Stephen Gosling and Blair McMillen at Troy Savings Bank Music Hall; a Composer Masterclass with Sleeping Giant composers collective members; Composer to Center Stage Reading Session with brilliant young composers showing the audience the evolution of the creative and very collaborative process of making orchestral music; Living Earth Show performances; Living Poets Musical Theatre curated by FENCE Literary Journal editor Rebecca Wolff. Outdoor activities also include a Tiffany glass walking tour of downtown Troy and a Mohawk-Hudson Nature Walk.
