NY Philharmonic Ends Run at Colorado's Bravo! Vail Music Festival, 7/30

The New York Philharmonic will return to Colorado's Bravo! Vail Valley Music Festival for its eighth annual summer residency, for six concerts, July 23-30, 2010. Alan Gilbert will conduct three concerts in Vail at the conclusion of his first season as Music Director of the Philharmonic, leading works by Beethoven, Sibelius, Mozart, Mendelssohn, Tchaikovsky, and Rachmaninoff. The Orchestra's residence will also feature appearances by conductors Andrey Boreyko and Bramwell Tovey, as well as soloists Jonathan Biss and Alexander Gavrylyuk, piano; Nikolaj Znaider, violin; New York Philharmonic Principal Cello Carter Brey; Nicole Cabell, soprano; and Branford Marsalis, saxophone. The New York Philharmonic has performed at the Bravo! Vail Valley Music Festival each summer since 2003.

Annual Lincoln Center Festival Continues with Ermon & Ramona, Edgard Varèse, et al. Thru 7/25

Nigel Redden, Director of the Lincoln Center Festival, which runs from July 7 through July 25, 2010, today announced the Festival's line-up, which includes ten North American, U.S., and New York premieres, and debuts. The Festival will unfold in seven venues on and off the Lincoln Center campus, including two major theater events on Governors Island-the North American premiere of Peter Stein's 12-hour marathon production of Dostoyevsky's The Demons (also known as The Possessed) and the North American premiere of Toneelgroep Amsterdam's production of Pier Paolo Pasolini's searing Teorema, adapted and staged by Ivo van Hove.

NY Philharmonic Announces Free Open Rehearsal 9/22

The New York Philharmonic and its Global Sponsor, Credit Suisse, will offer a Free Dress Rehearsal to the public on Wednesday, September 22, 2010, at 9:45 a.m. prior to the evening's Opening Night Concert launching the Philharmonic's 169th season - Alan Gilbert's second as the Philharmonic's 25th Music Director.

NY Philharmonic and Shanghai Symphony Orchestra Opens 2010 Concerts in the Parks, 7/13

The 2010 New York Philharmonic Concerts in the Parks, Presented by Didi and Oscar Schafer, will open with a free joint concert featuring the New York Philharmonic, conducted by Andrey Boreyko, and the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra, conducted by its music director, Long Yu, with pianist Lang Lang as one of the soloists, Tuesday, July 13, 2010, at 8:00 p.m., on the Great Lawn in Central Park.

Alan Gilbert and the NY Philharmonic Head to Europe Oct 21 - Nov. 4

The New York Philharmonic will present its third international concert tour under the direction of Music Director Alan Gilbert: EUROPE / AUTUMN 2010, October 21-November 4, 2010.
