Alan Gilbert and the New York Philharmonic Conclude the Inaugural Season

By:

The Orchestra Releases a Multifaceted Online Retrospective on a Season of Triumphs, Innovation, and Renewal

A new era at the New York Philharmonic began in September 2009 when Alan Gilbert became the first New Yorker to serve as the Orchestra's Music Director. The season was highlighted by new initiatives, debuts in Asia and Europe, world premieres, partnerships with renowned artists, and a new direction for the 168-year-old Orchestra. Relive some of these moments through a retrospective slide show and video clips; stream Mr. Gilbert's concert broadcasts on radio; or subscribe to the Philharmonic's iTunes Pass to own live recordings of concerts from the inaugural season led by Mr. Gilbert and others.
