Last summer, a group form the Ohio Humanities Council visited Piqua to consider it as one of their Ohio Chautauqua sites for 2017.  Unfortunately, they were not selected, but they did encourage the group to develop their own Chautauqua event.  Well, give folks from Piqua a challenge and they deliver.  So a dedicated committee officially began working on Piqua Chautauqua! The dates for this event will be September 19, 20 & 21, 2017 from 6 to 8 p.m. and will take place at Hance Pavilion, located in Fountain Park in Piqua.

Robbie Robertson has successfully adapted the 1962 film 'Satan in High Heels' for the stage. Audiences will be treated to a hilarious show with lewd humor in all the right places.

Directed by Becki McDonald, who makes some excellent directing choices with her large cast of fifteen adult and children actors by combining brief oratory, traditional dialogue, and injecting cast members into the audience to DRAW viewers dead smack into the action. This created a theater experience that is equally educational, entertaining, and thought-provoking. Use of mixed media was also a component but the limitations of the performance space really hampered full immersion into the subject matter created by Robertson and Spencer in their script.

Black at The Assassination by Kyndal Robertson & Camika Spencer and directed by Becki McDonald will run from October 17 - 27 at Bishop Arts Theatre in Oak Cliff, TX.

The provocative book is alreadyraising eyebrows and rattling religious cages, precisely what Schuller Wyatt had in mind when she decided to tackle the subject of religious bullying.

Those grappling with financial difficulties - or blessings - have a new resource to turn to, thanks to Richard Knapp, an ordained minister and a physician. In this new book, Knapp shares stories and scripture designed to give people a boost in their faith for finances. Drawing on Isaiah 12:3, Knapp compares God's provisions for prosperity to a functional well dug deep, providing for both the diggers and those around them. Building faith for finances, Knapp writes, will lead readers to be heroes in their stewardship of God's blessings.
