During the performance of "THE BEST OF ENEMIES", I nudged my wife and pointed out a gentleman across the aisle dabbing a tear away. It was only during the curtain calls that he was acknowledged by the actors on stage, and I realized he was the real Bill Riddick (Clifton Duncan was cast as Bill in the play).

King's fiancŽ, Tommy Westin, is preparing for a big match against Dap 'The Detroit Hammer' Fields. The detectives discover Vanessa, an ex-girlfriend of Fields', was hiding a closely guarded secret which could have thrown the fight and its payday into question. Meanwhile, Longford and Mahajan are forced to give a cold case a fresh look: It's been five years since James Lakeland died. Now Lakeland's mother brings new evidence to the squad. A love triangle is uncovered and the detectives must piece together Lakeland's two lives, the one with his wife and daughter and the other with his married lover who has hidden a crucial piece of the puzzle all these years. For the victim's close friend, Lieutenant Mason, and the other stunned and enraged detectives, this crime is very personal as they cast a wide net to investigate anyone who could have had a motive. Suspects range from a criminal Williams had once put away to a former boyfriend who may have been stalking her. Closely guarded secrets start to emerge, including Williams' pact with a well-known reporter to build a case against a prominent figure with whom Fitch has tangled in the past.
