The Miami premiere of Disney's THE LION KING opens tonight at 8 p.m. at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County for a limited engagement of four weeks through Sunday, June 10. THE LION KING plays Tuesday through Saturday evenings at 8 p.m. and Sunday evenings at 6:30 p.m. Matinee performances are Saturdays at 2 p.m., Sundays at 1 p.m. with an additional performance on Friday, June 8 at 2 p.m.
Adrienne Arsht Center welcomes the return of international piano star, Lang Lang, in a solo recital on the Knight Concert Hall stage for one night only, tonight, May 17 at 8pm at the Knight Concert Hall. This recital is being sponsored by Elizabeth and Nathan Leight.

The Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County welcomes back Ayikodans, Haiti's premier dance troupe and one of the country's most prominent artistic exports, May 25 and 26, staged in the intimate Carnival Studio Theater (Ziff Ballet Opera House) as part of the Center's 2011-2012 Dance Up Close Season. After last year's sold-out, earthquake relief fundraising performances, AYIKODANS returns to South Florida to once again thrill audiences with the world premiere of "Anmwey Haiti Manman" (Cry Haiti Mother), a moving piece commissioned by the Arsht Center, and "Danse de L'Araignee" (Dance of the Spider), created by the company's founder and choreographer, Jeanguy Saintus.
The Music Institute of Chicago, the oldest community music school in Illinois and one of the three oldest in the nation, offers the 24th annual Chicago Duo Piano Festival July 13-22 at Music Institute's Evanston East Campus and Nichols Concert Hall, 1490 Chicago Avenue. In addition to offering students private and group coaching and the opportunity to perform in final recitals, the Festival includes three public performances at Nichols Concert Hall featuring acclaimed performers and celebrated duo piano repertoire.
