THE LION KING tour continues to reign across North America, celebrating 10 triumphant years on the road on Friday, April 27 in Orlando. Since launching in April 2002 in Denver, CO, THE LION KING North American tour has played nearly 6,000 performances during 112 engagements in 74 cities. The record-breaking tour has been seen by more than14 million theatergoers and grossed over $928 million to date.

The Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County proudly presents The House Theatre of Chicago's critically-acclaimed production of DEATH and HARRY HOUDINI. This play marks the second House Theatre of Chicago production presented at the Adrienne Arsht Center after last season's The Sparrow. Written and directed by The House's Artistic Director Nathan Allen, DEATH and HARRY HOUDINI delivers a roller coaster ride through the life of the great magician, Harry Houdini, and his life-long battle against death. House Company Member and award-winning magician, Dennis Watkins, has joined the cast and is set to perform Houdini's most renowned and dangerous escape-the dreaded Water Torture Cell-in this dark and tumultuous story guaranteed to keep audiences on the edge of their seats. DEATH and HARRY HOUDINI plays in the intimate Carnival Studio Theater (Ziff Ballet Opera House) from April 26 - May 20, 2012.

When Robert M. Heuer, Florida Grand Opera's General Director and CEO steps onto the stage prior to the opening night performance of Romeo and Juliette at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts this Saturday, April 21 2012, at 7:00 pm, he will, in effect, be saying farewell to many loyal fans and supporters who are perhaps unaware of his impending retirement on May 31, 2012.

36th Annual Carbonell Awards Set for 4/2

The South Florida community is invited to celebrate the achievements of the talented theater professionals in the region at the 36th Annual Carbonell Awards on Monday, April 2, 2012, at 7:30 p.m. in the Amaturo Theater, at Broward Center for the Performing Arts, 201 S.W. 5th Ave., Fort Lauderdale. Tickets in advance are $25 with $20 tickets available for groups of 10 or more, $35 at the door. South Florida theater fans are in for an array of Broadway hits as the awesomely cool, ROCK OF AGES, opens the all musical Broadway in Miami 2012 - 2013 season at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami Dade County. Scheduled to launch the season with a bang, from October 9-14, ROCK OF AGES will be followed by the high-stepping Broadway Musical for the entire family, MARY POPPINS, set to bring in the New Year, January 1-6; the return of the world's greatest musical, LES MISÉRABLES, in a brand new 25th anniversary production, February 26 - March 3; the outlandishly colorful PRISCILLA QUEEN OF THE DESERT will keep audiences on their feet with its parade of dance-floor favorites, April 2-7; and Best Musical Tony Winner of 2010 MEMPHIS will make its triumphant Miami debut with its explosive dancing and powerhouse songs, May 7-12.
