Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County announced six new presentations featuring internationally and nationally-renowned plays, two world premieres and critically-acclaimed artists, many from South Florida, to headline the 2011-2012 THEATER UP CLOSE SEASON in the Arsht Center's intimate Carnival Studio Theater.

Arsht Center Announces Box Office Opening Event NO HANDLING FEE DAY

The Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County announced its 2011-2012 Box Office Opening, with more than 20 jazz, Broadway, theater, dance, classical music and pops concert performances going on sale for the first time to the general public, beginning at 12 noon on Sunday, September 18, 2011. Plus, FOR ONE DAY ONLY, all handling fees will be waived in celebration of the box office opening event, which features the first opportunity to buy single tickets to world-class performers and award-winning shows slated for the Arsht Center's 11-12 season, including Shrek the Musical, Twyla Tharp's Come Fly Away, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Pilobolus Dance Theatre, Jazz Meets Gershwin, Wynton Marsalis and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra, Sergio Mendes and many more.

Plácido Domingo To Star In FGO’s Gala Night 11/15

A creation of Henson Alternative, the one-of-a-kind live stage comedy is the brainchild of Academy Award-winning puppeteer, director, producer, and writer Brian Henson and actor and improvisational master Patrick Bristow. STUFFED AND UNSTRUNG opens the Adrienne Arsht Center's 2011-2012 Comedy Planet series in the Sanford and Dolores Ziff Ballet Opera House for one night only on October 9, 2011 at 7:30 p.m.
