Welsh National Opera has announced its 2025/2026 Season, which will also see the Company celebrate its 80th anniversary. WNO will visit Birmingham Hippodrome in May 2026 with a brand-new production of The Flying Dutchman (Thu 7 May 2026) and the return of Blaze of Glory! (Fri 8 May 2026).

Cast Announced For the Royal Opera's IL TROVATORE

The Royal Opera has announced that Riccardo Massi will perform the role of Manrico in Adele Thomas's new production of Il trovatore on 2, 5, 8, 13 and 16 June 2023. Massi shares the role with Gregory Kunde who performs the role on 21, 24, 27, 29 June and 2 July as scheduled.

The Royal Opera House has announced its biggest Cinema Season ever. Over 2022/23, an astonishing 13 productions from The Royal Ballet and The Royal Opera will be broadcast to more than 1,300 cinemas around the world, bringing the joy of live performance to audiences from the UK all the way to New Zealand.

Gianandrea Noseda Begins Tenure As General Music Director Of The Zurich Opera House This Weekend

Gianandrea Noseda begins his tenure as General Music Director of the Zurich Opera House on Sunday, October 24, 2021 with a new production of Il trovatore directed by Adele Thomas with a cast including Piotr Beczala and Marina Rebeka. Noseda's return to operatic leadership follows an interregnum since the transformational work he did at the Teatro Regio Torino from 2007 - 2018.  

Irish National Opera Announces 2021-22 Season

Irish National Opera’s 2021-22 season is its biggest ever, and its most diverse. World Premiere Of Psychedelic New Musical HAIL CREMATION! Comes to Newbridge Memo

National Theatre Wales (NTW) presents Jon Tregenna's brand new musical Hail Cremation! a psychedelic fusion of live music, dance and video celebrating the extraordinary life of Victorian Welsh radical Dr William Price, regarded as the pioneer of modern cremation and a passionate Welshman. Hail Cremation! is directed by Adele Thomas (The Knight of the Burning Pestle (Shakespeare's Globe), Berenice (Royal Opera House/International)) and will star Matthew Bulgo, Gruffudd Glyn, Lee Mengo and Seren Vickers, with dancers Iestyn Arwel, Ella Biddlecombe, Elan Elidyr and Kyle Flaherty. The musicians are Stephen Black (of Sweet Baboo), Tom Cottle, Aidan Thorne and Paul Jones. Hail Cremation! runs at Newbridge Memo in South Wales from 23 March to 4 April and opens the NTW 10th anniversary year, led by new Artistic Director Lorne Campbell.
